Coolest Guzzi Speed

So I’m thinking the heat generated by an an air cooled engine increases significantly as the load/speed increases.  On the other hand, more cooling occurs the faster the air flows over the fins.  But I bet at some point the lines cross and the increased heat from going faster outpaces the increased cooling from more air flow.  In other words, max cool is not idling (min load; min airflow) nor is it WOT (max load; max cooling).

Does anyone know what steady speed produces the lowest engine temperature on an air-cooled Guzzi?   

I’d guess about 40 to 45 mph, but have never played around with a oil temperature gauge or a cylinder head temp gauge.

Actually, the coolest speed is whatever speed you happen to be going on a Guzzi because it is the coolest thing on the road.

The koolest speed is whatever speed you are going at 4200 rpm. For whatever reason, that (to me) seems to be the sweet spot on Guzzis. 
As for when is is running the coolest? I don't care. I've *abused* a Guzzi and it just shrugged it off.

Mine runs so cool at pretty much any speed...  But that being said, I would say in 3 rd, or 4th gear with the engine running about 4k rpms would be pretty close to best engine load, and wind speed..  5th gear you would have a lot more load from wind resistance, and 1st, and 2nd you would be going a lot slower so less air movement.

Why have the motor running?

Going West on the Going To The Sun Highway, I coasted from the Logan Pass Visitor Center to the bottom engine off, 13 miles. (Glacier National Park for those that don't know.) One of my most memorable experiences. I did spend a lot of time on the brakes.
