I don’t mind the idea of this..
« on: September 06, 2020, 03:22:17 PM »
I never thought I’d trend towards something this basic again, but I like how this bloke built what he wanted.
Simple, rugged, repairable, serviceable..

No ride by wire, no Guzzidiag, not a fortune...Hmmmmm.

I should check by PM first, but I know he’s a good sport so I’ll say it.
Looks like something Malik would successfully campaign at rallies and get on very well with..
Not flashy, not showy, just blood and guts simple and serviceable. Sort of in the same genre’ as the Himalayan, early R80 GS’ et al.....
What is that basic frame, and is the engine what you would find in a 750 Breva ?
On the other hand though...

Goodness gracious me...

It looks to be a version of the original smallblock frame:

That bike might just be a modified smallblock with its original frame and engine. Dunno.

I'm not sure bolting on longer shock is sage advise. The driveline angle is greatly increased over stock. Wonder how long it'll last before something goes tits up?

That's the common wisdom. But I guess you could just make a point of replacing the u joint on a regular basis, and still come out ahead over the price of some other bike. Whether this makes sense would depend upon the owner.
