Custom made by a local machinist. He's the guy who made the triple clams, fork brace and lightened flywheel for the daves cycle racebike that became my LeMans SE special.

Progress is slow. Did get the heads ported and flowed.

cliffrod · « **Reply #62 on:** March 15, 2022, 06:43:28 AM »

No matter- progress IS progress. Very cool. Thanks for the pics.

Exhaust mock up. 1.75" Stainless tube with equal length headers.

cliffrod · « **Reply #65 on:** May 15, 2022, 12:54:06 PM »

That makes the exhaust plans for my Corsa Record look like a walk in the park... Very cool.

Gotta ask about potential exhaust heat vs fuel/gas tank issues. Will there be any heat shield, baffle, exhaust wrap, ?

Turin · « **Reply #66 on:** May 15, 2022, 04:20:18 PM »

Not an issue. The gas tank is miles away. There is not much choice if I want equal length head pipes. The frame wants what it wants. My buddy Tom Hull loves making exhaust systems.

That’s a helluva friend! Looking great!

Nice job, very Turbo

Slow going with life getting in the way but work has resumed. The back half of the frame was butchered by someone who should never have been allowed near a welder. Why you would weld crap seamed thick steel tube to lightweight T45 is beyond me.
We studied what pictures we had, took measurements, and my buddy Tom Hull is doing his magic. The whole frame will be BS T45 steel tubing again. Some liberties are being taken as we do not have the original swingarm. The swing arm is a nice piece, don't know who built that.

Making progress.

hydro blasted 2-1-2 exhaust. hoping the stainless turns different colors at the weld points.

cliffrod · « **Reply #73 on:** March 25, 2023, 06:46:15 AM »

That’s looks good.

Turin · « **Reply #74 on:** April 16, 2023, 08:05:34 PM »

fairing mocked up. progress is slow. Contemplating polishing the exhaust or leaving it hydroblasted.

Canuck750 · « **Reply #75 on:** April 17, 2023, 09:58:31 AM »

You’re making great progress, the exhaust is a thing of beauty!

Turin · « **Reply #76 on:** April 17, 2023, 10:43:43 PM »

opinion, should I polish the stainless exhaust or leave it as is ? Could I go back and polish it later?

Polish, every day of the week.
A work of art should jump out and hit you in the face, you don’t see the Mona Lisa in a plastic wrapper…

Canuck750 · « **Reply #78 on:** April 18, 2023, 07:35:30 PM »

My vote is to polish the stainless steel.

cliffrod · « **Reply #79 on:** April 18, 2023, 07:55:45 PM »

I like the fairing pics. I have no idea how the hydro blasted surface may show straw like polished ss does (?). That might look kind of cool, if it would color and look kind of like the matte blue finish on Britten exhaust.

All I can say is polishing is the gift that keeps on giving.. and taking… and giving…

Turin · « **Reply #80 on:** May 20, 2023, 11:23:59 AM »

Fairing bracket. The idea is to be able to completley remove the front fairing and headlight by taking out two bolts and undoing one plug.
progress is slow .

Thanks again to my good buddy Tom Hull at Tom's Italian Tune and Service.

Please post the details regarding the connections when you figure them out. I would like to figure out the same details for my Corsa Record.

caliper brackets done, aluminum belly pan fabrication done, a little polishing.

Turin · « **Reply #83 on:** June 08, 2024, 09:41:27 PM »

Set up is done, Final welding is next, then powder coat. Bike is Really light.

engine torn down and mocked up for blueprinting. The engine was a stock lemans 1000 with original B10 cam. Timing gears are the only bonus. Other than a little dirt that got in the motor, it looked like new. Almost a shame to tear it down.

cliffrod · « **Reply #85 on:** August 19, 2024, 08:04:13 PM »

Thanks for the update. I’m really liking this bike.

Frame back from powder coating.

Ratso88 · « **Reply #89 on:** October 18, 2024, 08:25:45 AM »

OK, you've officially got my attention.

The green is really, um, green.
I like it.
I'm now wondering about the rest of the color scheme.

This project is the type of thing I really like seeing come together.

Great work!
