Someone buy this Griso, please - Nashville Clist
« on: September 14, 2020, 09:15:33 AM »
If you don't, I may be forced to again foolishly indulge my former Guzzi fancy.  Again.  I've previously owned 2 8V Grisos.  I have no business even looking at this.  Please go buy it.  I emailed about the tappets but haven't heard back yet.  I suspect it has not been rollered and this may be reflected in the price.  If this ad is for real, what an amazing motorcycle at such a budget price.

Dang thats sweet. I remember dropping my new (to me) Breva off at Rider's Hill for service in 2014, watching another guy get suited up to roll out on his newly purchased 'BLACK DEVIL' sitting shiny in the parking lot and thinking "Man, I bought the wrong motorcycle!"

Love those cans!

I'd just parked my 2012 Griso 8vSE, when a gentleman walks up to me and asks, "who makes that bike?"  I told him.  "it's Italian?"  "Yes it is."

"Now I know," he responds.  "The Italians, ahhhhh, the most stylish shoes, the loveliest clothes ......... and the best looking motorcycles!"

That was my thought, exactly, about the lovely Tenni Green machine.

As I stated on a different board, to my eyes it’s still one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever produced.

It is in the NADA value range.  Not a price that that would make me buy it "just because", but I would sure like to test ride it.

Never seen Griso headers blue that badly. Wonder if it has a spoofer, or PC, over fueling it.

Yes, odd.
I've got 30k miles on mine (stock map), and the headers are a beautiful gold hue.

If they were blueing due to excessive EGT, then you’d think it was under fuelling...Lean.

I actually don’t think these look too bad even.  I’ve seen worse.  Where?  On the red devil I used to own.  I tried various means to return them to some semblance of acceptable appearance and never could.  I eventually had to just give in and have them coated.  In my case, it was due to a shitty and cheap aftermarket can the original owner ran on the bike for several thousands of miles; it was basically an open exhaust.

Can actually go either way. Excessive heat from running lean, or unburned fuel burning in the header. They need to come up with a different name for that material, stainless steel.

My point was by the time I got to engage in a couple/first email conversation bike was sold. Simple/quick phone call seems to work.
