If you like the bars you were sent. Make a shim to make them fit. Beer cans always work well, cut a strip the width of your clamps and wrap around the bar until thick enough. As I mentioned, ROX as well as others on for instance Amazon sell risers. Find the one that closest matches your 30mm bar and shim or grind out where you need to. Good luck,Tom
Dan, I’m about to change out the bars on my Quota. My bars that are going on are 30mm. If I remember right that works out to 1.18 inches which is close enough to 1 1/8” for me. I ordered a pair of riser adapters that are supposed to work. They have shipped and when they arrive I will take measurements and photos for you. 1 1/8” bars are referred to as “fat bars” if that helps you search. Lots of late model cruisers use them.
If you use Locktite use the green. Just make sure you have them where you want them. The green is sleeve retainer. It will be hell to take it apart.kk
should be standard 7/8".I put a set of superbike bars with some custom made risers/barbacks made for a ST1100 on it. the bike felt just like a smaller Electra glide classic. they are now on a 2001 EV. so much better bend than a stock bar.
Another option is to lift the bottom half of clamp from the triple tree. I have a set of nice aluminum risers with a longer bolt to accomplish this. I have heard of people using the longer bolt and a pair of matched sockets to do the same.
I think 28mm might be close to 1 1/8". If you like the new bars, maybe HD risers with pull back would work for you?Um....One question..... What size are the new bars where the controls go? S/B either 7/8 or 22mm. I don't remember what Guzzi uses. My old BMW is 22mm.Tom
Not trying to add more challenges......but the "bar backs" I got for my Bobber Sport that seem to fit every other bike made......did not fit. The distance between bolt holes was off. Way off. I got some generic Rox Risers and that did the trick.
I moved my bars back and up with a piece of Walnut wood on a 03 EV. One advantage of wood is you can make it to suit your needs. Some have doubted the use of wood. The only way the wood will fail is for you to be in a wreck or to catch the bike on fire.
I don’t think that will work Tom because of the taper at the end of the bars to a 7/8” size. Only Moto guzzi would do something like this😡
Nope mask did it on the versus 1000 in 2015 go look and measure one as aftermarket bars for it might work for u
Not sure what this is V, could you elaborate a little?
Versus is a Kawasaki I believe, like a Suzuki SV650. And it’s a popular mod for metric adv bikes. The pro taper bars I’ve got for my Quota are exactly like this. It does away with the need for a cross brace. My bars are 30mm at center, 22mm (7/8)at ends. It means I don’t have to change out my 22mm controls.
Maybe u need to go look at one. & compare
