Yep. Soon to be 68 so I’m ahead of the game I guess. Worst part was, it was 52 that night and had to crawl out to water the grass 3 times.

Yes, that's the MAIN issue!!

...and although totally practical, I am not sure I want the dreaded "urine bottle" next to me!!!

When on a long motorcycle trip...and at our age...there is no price on COMFORT!!

I Don’t like waking up in the wee hours anywhere,but if it is not raining I enjoy looking at the night sky as I take care of business. Although it is hard to do at a rally I try not to get too hydrated before turning in,that way I limit my trips.

Not many places I'd rather be! 74 years old and crawling in and out is more of a chore but it keeps me moving. Love the sound of the night rain on the fly while wrapped up cozy and dry inside. Warm nights with only the screen between me and outside is a great change from the monotony of four walls sealing out the environment. Don't mind an occasional day hunkered down during a storm. I have enough Kindle books to keep the down time interesting. Wide mouth bottle with a good cap is a must.

Same here brother , nothing better than rain falling on a tent . Until a few years ago my gear consisted of a Mexican blanket and a tarp .

This. I never sleep better than when in a tent. Don't really know why, but I've always loved it. When I was a pup, I started sleeping on the screen porch at home. Slept in a glider from April to October. There is just something about it.

63 years young and still a tent guy. Once in a while il splurge for a cabin at Two Wheels of Suches when there, but i prefer the tent when im motorcycle camping. At my age I gotta keep moving, bending, slithering, whatever and stay limbered up. or rigor mortis will set in! I just committed to going to my cabin in the cohutta wildlife management area, for two or three days per week and hiking out of the cabin in the woods for exercise. Gotta try and stay as limber as possible. Big commitment but I have to do it for my health! Picture for my motivation reminder. lol

Aug 2011. Theodore Roosevelt National Park, west of Bismarck. We’d just pitched our tents. One of the Park Rangers stopped by to chat. His parting words “ .............. if you guys hear anything moving outside your tents in the middle of the night, don’t worry. It’s only buffalo or wild horses.”

I’m a 1952 model & still enjoy tenting . W/many orthopedic issues i rely on my Go-Kot w/a therm-a-rest on top for a good nights sleep . I’ve been accused of scarring bears snoring , don’t bother me ! As for the other issue , i try to keep fluid intake down & usually only 2-3 trips outside for star gazing . My brolly is always close at hand if rain threatens. I to fear an unexpected jug failure .

I thought I'd mastered the fine art of peeing out of my hammock until one morning I discovered I'd pissed in my boot.

My pee jar is an old naglene 1L water bottle that I stenciled a big P on the side. Properly labled and absolutely watertight.
