The bike HAD a Plexistar 2 on it- before I crashed my EV.  I'm not getting another one.  I HAD PF3 at one time too and found it quite good but it broke into a couple of pieces when I took it off to clean it and it fell from my work bench.

So if I can find one that fits and decide to keep the EV, I think for $250 the PF3 might be a bargain, considering.

BTW- I could use a SHORT STALK front signal for my EV.  I also need a LONG STALK rear too but I think MG has one (1).

Turn signals would work from the V11 sports.  However the same supplier sold them to Kymco too.  Way cheaper.  If there is a motorcycle bone-yard near you.  Cheap off a Kymco moped.

Thanks, I'll check Kymco.  No luck for salvage parts from my search.

I just checked Amazon.  Loads of options.  Go shopping.

https://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-Lights-Direction-Indicator-Motorbike/dp/B0B81BSD5C/ref=sr_1_73?crid=VQODPBX8KE6H&keywords=kymco+50cc+scooter+turn+signal+lights&qid=1663181125&sprefix=kymco+50cc+scooter+turn+signal+lights%2Caps%2C233&sr=8-73

Tom, I want to thank you very much.  Both my front and back signals work, they're just scraped up.  Luckily I have a couple of take-off with broken stalks in my stash.  So I can at least change out the lenses (and thanks to a poster here for giving me one of those).  I doubt I can get the chrome housing off the old broken stalks.  The front one is buggered up pretty good, the other one a little less.   At least I have lenses.

In other news the bike looks pretty good.  The rack, grab handle and seat back have polished up nice to point of not visible in the shop.  The mirrors and crash bars are on order.  Next is the PF3.

Okay.  I was going with the notion that you didn't have options.  Carry-on.  :thumb:

I'm pulling the trigger on this one for my EV.  Since I crashed last Sept, I've been without any windshield.  That bike is awful in the wind.  Helluva windblast.  Took a death grip at 70mph just to hang on.  Even if I sell the little beast, I'd feel bad to sell it to anyone that was riding it on the highway.  It still runs like a train.

we've had some great 70 degree weather here in the heartland.  I've been concentrating on the EV for the last week of riding.  Ridden the Duc some while the Greenie is in the shop.  Took the EV on the highway and the wind blast is pretty bad.  I've always ridden it with a windshield, PF3 being quite a bit better.   Without, it's just an around town bike.

I ordered the darn thing yesterday morning about the time I wrote about it here.  I took the Mrs to lunch, we got home around 3 pm and it was on the porch.  I'll let ya'll know when I put it on.

Got the fairing on today.  It's a tight fit but it does fit.  Took a test ride, lots of traffic so I didn't get a long ride.  Got it up to about 75mph briefly with a 15-20 mph headwind.  It certainly works as well as I remember so far as wind protection and minimal buffeting.  I did get some wind noise with defected air coming over the top of the windshield.  I'll do some adjusting although movement is limited.

Just remember that the windscreen material cuts easily. If it's a bit of a tight fit just trim excess material until it's a perfect fit.

The tightest parts are where the trim is glued to the fairing around the headlight and forks..   :embarrassed:

But i can be pretty dangerous with dremel.  That's good and bad.

Was you able to get big enough clamps for the huge Guzzi forks?
I remember having to take measurements because they didn’t have the size on any chart due to not be offered for the 2004 EV I put the Plexi 3 on.

I just pulled the trim off my P3 when I fit it to the '98 EV.
Replaced it with 1/4" fuel hose slit down the length.

If you're talking about the hose clamps, they were plenty big.

It actually fits, it's just a tight fit.  Since I got some wind noise, I am actually thinking about raising it an inch or two.

Final report.  Got it where I want it.  keeping it about 2 1/2 in above headlight.

For some reason the bike seems to ride, handle and feel much better with the windscreen and HB JR bags on it.  Can't explain why the bags would matter.

The fork clamps that came with my P3 was an adjustable aluminum type clamp that had 3 adjustment settings and it took the largest ones that was offered.

Every P3 I've seen uses hose clamps on the fork tubes. I've seen the 3 stage clamps but they were on a pair of lower deflectors that the PO added to my V11.

You are right, Sir, it’s been several years since I had my last P3 but I remember now those clamps came with National Cycle lowers.
My apologies to LR for the misinformation and glad the project is working out.
Thanks for the correction 👍

Just grateful that forum provided me with the right part number to get the right windshield.  Like I said, the bike rides 10 times better.  Despite binning it a few months ago the bike looks pretty nice for 71k miles.

I had a P2 on my EV before I binned it.  Awful, buffets terribly.  If you're stuck with one, get as high and raked as far back as possible.  It's still better than no windshield.
