Hey Jim,     Sorry you're a hurting unit, hang tough big guy.

2020, the year that sux will be over shortly, and a new spring to look forward to just around the corner, keep your eye on the prize.

I can't help you with your pain, the feds busted my Fentanyl connection  but I am am sending up one of those fancy floating "get well soon" balloons in your honour; if it happens to find it's way to you, be very careful huffing the contents, I snuck into Roper's secret stash and inflated it with unicorn farts

I've suddenly gotten to know a bit of who and what you are.  Having been enamored with your 'stage' name I'm now pleased to know you through your many friends. We think a like in many ways, Jim.

My hero motorcyclist is Fred Marsh. Perhaps you know the name? Indian factory racer, AMA hero, very early MG dealership in CT. We celebrate him each year. I still visit with him on occasion. In my minds eye I see him straddling a sport bike (small 2 stroke w/pedals ;), or chatting w/him on Indian Day or at the shop. He was 101. W/out a motorcycle to ride he only lasted another 3 years.

Sometimes we must sit back and enjoy the view, or read about it with wish filled thoughts.  I'm with you, Jim. All the way.
       Good fortune,  R3~

Please, no prayers!  I am and continue to be a non- believer.  I am certain that man made god in his own image and needed a better roll model.

If I learned one thing from you, it was not to listen to anyone else if they told you to do something, or not do it!

Here's hoping that the pain is bearable and the recovery positive ...

Black Cat, how do you know about Diamond Lil's?

That place was infamous; I mentioned it in a thread on IL and you relayed a memory of having been in there sometime in the 70's?  Back in the day we would go in there at least once a month, just because it was always a bizarre experience.

Yesterday there were 65 little farenheits dancing about.  I thought about my nurses and doctors forbidding me to go outside,
and how they specifically said do not go to the coffee shop.  So I went out and fired up the sidecar rig and rode to town for a cup of coffee.  The ride felt really good and all my medicines were working properly so I felt no pain at all, not even in the lungs.
At the coffee shop I unloaded the wheelchair and went inside.   Life is good, to ride is even better.

Aloha Jimmy!

Best wishes from the Deep Deep South & really out in left field.  When needed go for that swim off of the Kohala coast line at Mahukona Bay.  Warm crystal clear light blue sea water.  Use your mind's eye and retake that snorkel swim step-by-step.  No one can take that away from you.  :thumb:

Your yard in the Kapaau is getting warm showers to keep it nice and green.  No really big changes in Hawi, Kapaau, Pololu & Upolu Point.  If anything they have still remained the same.  The Trades resumed blowing from the NE.  Kohala Coffee Mill is still open with shorter hours.  Take your lawnmower tractor down the road for a cup of joe. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Kohala-Coffee-Mill-166697096687259/reviews/?ref=page_internal

Still using that coffee mug you gave me with the laminated braided rope on it.

Try and enjoy what time you have left.

Make peace with everyone.

Get all your affairs in order so relatives / friends don't have to anguish over it when you are gone.

Donate your body to the local teaching hospital for study.  Might as well do something useful with it instead of taking up valuable real estate.

Bad Chad,  I think they just like to be domineering.  They declared me clear of - after more than two days testing.
Maybe they are afraid that I will  infect others with immunity.
I really miss swimming at Mahukona!  Thanks for the reminder Tom.
Actually I miss all of Hawaii greatly having spent 1/7th of my life there.

That's the attitude that makes life worth living!!!  Especially if you think the end is near.  As a friend of mine who is 88 says "And I'll give you some more advice.  When you get to be my age, don't buy any green bananas!"

When I was a teenager, a friend's great grandmother admired my Suzuki 185.  I asked her if she wanted to go for a ride and she said "I'd love that!"  It was a huge Irish graduation party and as we rode around the yard, all the adults looked on in horror. With her finger dug into my sides like an eagle's talons she said "Look at all those fools worrying about me.  I'm 96 years old!  I'm gonna do whatever the Hell I want!"

I've enjoyed your posts. Best wishes.

When you go, promise me you will leave your body to one of the Bigfoot research groups, so we can finally say "In your face Pal!" to all those who have doubted your existence for so long!
