A rare Moto Morini 500 Camel project with a But It Now for $1000, has the seat in another picture, it doesn't look that bad

Thankfully it's too far away for me to consider.

SOLD already.

Well that was quick, I am not surprised, if it had been close to me I would have bought it sight unseen.

The 501 Camel is a rare bike and reportedly a decent machine, I would be surprised if there are ten of them in North America.

I don't know if it's got anywhere close to the same cachet and desirability, but there is a guy in Toronto "George" posts tons of old bike stuff on the CVMG forum all the time (or used to) and in one of his warehouse photos of old bikes that were always for sale but not moving hidden way in the back, was a Moto Morini Camel but I'm almost positive it was a 350.

I never had the desire to track it down, but if that was in your wheelhouse it may be a possibility, fyi

nice bikes , the 501 is a great all rounder, actually works better than you would expect from its parts.
the engine is a interesting one , with more displacement and a hot camshaft. than the road 500.
most of them end up as a engine donor for the road bikes.

Early drum brake camels were completely different, they were thinly disguised enduro machines, aimed at six day trials,
with just enough accessories added to make them street legal.

I know of at least three, just in my area. I don't know the exact figure, but I suspect the total number imported by Herdan Corp. was somewhere close to 50.

If a 350, it would be a Kanguro.

The dusty one that's sat, and been for sale forever, was on Cycle Trader...since forever. Same with the seller's Bimota Mantra. I made offers about a year ago, but there they sit...
