Checking out the Apache at HB tomorrow, but leaning toward the Givi, as they can be had for under $200 for the pair, and I like the locking and top loading. I'm afraid I will have been spoiled by my top loading leather bags if/when I get side openers for touring.
We'll see, and I'll keep you posted. I do like the look of the ammo cases too, and their top load.

Kappa is Givi's sister brand, Todd.  I found the Kappa stuff to be just a bit less expensive when I was shopping.

I getcha on the top loaders. After going from side load to top load I'd be hard pressed to go back.

Thanks for the tip on the Kappa's, Sarah, I'll check them out!
I'm going to snag one of the 4800 Harbor Freight cases today just to check it out.
I do like access to the cases without having to remove them from the bike.

Just a quick follow-up, in "case" anyone is interested... :boozing:

I just had to have top opening, and really like the convenience factor of integrated locks, instead of using little padlocks. So, a little more searching found a decent deal on a set of the Givi E22N Monkey cases. I took some pics of one next to the Pelican. I propped it up in some to give a more accurate representation of how it will likely sit on the bike.

Oh, and after removing the mounts from the Pelicans, I used the same epoxy technique, which worked great, even on the large lock hole!

Thanks again for the suggestions and tips! Will have to wait until Spring to actually figure out the mount install.

Cheers!
