From the believe it or not file
« on: December 11, 2020, 03:34:56 PM »
I am completing my 6th year of riding at least once every month. Yep, year round.
Now to be fair, here in KC we have some pretty dandy days even in the coldest months.
Well at least, the sun pokes out for awhile and the temps aren’t too frigid.

Anyway, it’s refreshing and just a thing I began in 2015 and felt I should just keep doing it as long as I am able.  :bike-037:

Ride On!

I enjoyed doing that for the first 3 years after moving to Vancouver from Ottawa , then one afternoon on my way home from work
it started snowing ( rather a scarce occasion here) and it continued to snow and snow . Took an eternity to finish the last 5 kilometers .
Snow from my feet to my knees when I finally arrived home ! So I don't do that anymore  . Peter
Yep , I'm jealous !

I managed to do that a few years ago - up here in interior British Columbia!  I do seem to remember falling off at least once, though (not a Guzzi - my wife's XS250).

I have the opposite issue, I have to remember to drive the Jeep. Since retirement only 2Kmi a year. I find it normal to ride.

Been doing that for years here in Colorado Springs. I think I might have missed one or two months in the last five years.

I guess you do!  You're living in the middle of Georgia.  Think back to your older days in the Chicago area.  Bet if you were there, you wouldn't be forgetting to drive the Jeep!

Still have great memories of my fly and ride to Dahlonega  in 2012 to take delivery of the Griso, and the ride back to Cleveland Ohio.  Steve, best wishes for a wonderful holiday season.

I remember crashing the Jeep drunk and having only 3 wheels in winter for 4yrs in IL. I was in the process of combining 2 Jeeps to 1 when I moved to GA. All I had here were bikes no Jeep till 07.

We solar heated the whole state.  Only heavy rain days are a no go.  We do get snow too.     (Hawaii)  Although I rode all year round when I live in PA, NJ & AZ.

We just got some snow on Mauna Kea.  It only affects a couple of hundred people who work at the observatories.  You can also get altitude sickness.   :boozing:

Current snow conditions on Mauna Kea & Mauna Loa.     It all melted away.     https://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/obop/mlo/livecam/livecam.html

This what we had in Oct.    https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2020/10/27/its-only-october-snow-is-already-falling-atop-mauna-kea/

This is what will be towards Spring.   https://www.hawaii.com/big-island/things-to-do/snowboard  No base but you can ski or snowboard.  Just don't head for a mogul.  It's probably a boulder with powder on it.

Almost exclusively DP bikes. I rode all winter unless icy one year back in my 20's. Now I'm just a fair weather guy who loves between 70-80 degrees.

Salt stinks for sure.
I used AC-50 all over my bikes bits and bolts including the spoke nipples, so we’ll see how that helps to ward off the rust monster.
