The v7 Stone keeps the 750 and gets the 'Night Pack' upgrades as stock, new wheels, not sure what else

Well on 2nd/3rd look not so sure thats still the 750cc mill.

Odd they wouldnt put '850' on it anywhere if they upped the displacement?

I don't think so. It would have little sense to homologate Euro-5 the 750 engine only for the Stone.

I'm not seeing anything in either of those two links that the Stone keeps the 750.
If that is the case, it is probably just MG using up their stock of 750 motors.

The V7 will also be offered in a weakened version , in line with the limitations of the A2 license and ideal for new Guzzisti and will have the adjustable and switchable MGCT traction control as standard.

This one may not come to the states since we don't have the A2 category.

The A2 bike could be an identical 850 with different ECU programming.   OR it could be how MG uses up the 750's.
It is possible that with different ECU programming the 750 Moto could be made to meet Euro5, albeit with slightly lower power output.

Compared to the previous version, the new model from Mandello is generally more complete in terms of equipment and shows a higher maturity, also evidenced by the aesthetic impact of the larger engine, distinguished by the generous exhaust pipes with a different layout; the rear view highlights the transmission gimbal increased and the rear wheel of larger section , in addition to more robust pair of shock absorbers Kayaba

The frame has been evolved with the addition of steel elements in the area of the steering head, while the new pair of shock absorbers with greater travel and the new double height saddle , ensure more comfort. Always with the same objective, unprecedented supports for the rider's footpegs are used .

So, not just a new engine in the V7.  Definitely more competitive with the mid size twins available in the US today.  Not enough for me to part with my V7III though.

Makes me wonder if the new V85TT is going to be down on power to meet the new emissions.

I think Guzzi is amazing at confusing customers w naming conventions..

A V7 Special thats an 850...

V7 Sport..750cc in 1970s
V7..750cc
V7 1,2,3, all 750cc

20 years from now
“Wow i just bought an old v7..its 850cc”

“No its nots..the v7 was a 750..”

“What the Sport?”

“No the Special...”

Around and around and around..

Most likely , unless it goes up in displacement, to say, 950cc.

Go to Revzilla's Common Thread or whatever it is called. It is their daily blog.  The V7s are getting the 850 motor. Detuned a bit from V85 levels. Hope I read it right. I kind of rushed through it due to my excitement.

So many assumptions being made here.

They are clearly both 850's according to the wording of the release and the website.

There's no reason to assume they were detuned because of EU-V. Maybe they were and we'll see that on the V85 too but I'm thinking it was simply to differentiate between models and price points.

The A2 "version" is programming and can be unlocked later.

I just asked Jenn if she minded if we had 3 V7s.

Makes me wonder if the new V85TT is going to be down on power to meet the new emissions.
I recall this happening with the earlier BMW K bikes.  My first K100RS, a 1985 model, was rated at 90hp.  A later K, my '89 K100RS/ABS had been de-rated to 82hp.  I believe this was an effort to meet emission requirements.

I like the blue one.  Needs a second front disk and dual instruments to look even better.

If I can ever talk myself into owning a "heavy street bike" again, this might just get me back into GuzziStan.

I just asked Jenn if she minded if we had 3 V7s.

I thought that you didn't care for the power delivery (higher RPMs) of the V85 motor, and preferred the V9 motor?

Considering the more dear V85 still has tubes I think you have your answer. They seem to have no desire to put tubeless spokes on these things.
