The Furry has lots of plastic bits , and after riding one I can safely state they are boring .

A furry thread. Oh my.  Good to know. I’ve been leaning to one of those 700 Honda’s with the automatic and abs.  Lotta bike for the money, but no one bought them in the us.

I just watched a ride review on a Fury last night on YouTube, I think it was motorcyclist magazine.  If you didn’t know you would never guess that’s a stock Honda.

Looks well done. Never seen one before with a DOHC Honda motor. Is that an Amen Savior frame?

Never owned one, but in general, I have always liked Jeep Wranglers, and the larger Grand Cherokee AWD SUV...and then, I read about their reliability reviews...

Once you start riding like that, it becomes second nature.  Everyone in 4 wheels is used to the fact that motorcycles can do that.

as of now the hammer is back and the trigger is possibly being pulled back on two of the below three bikes....  A decision on which two specifically should be made within two weeks..... I am leaning toward the top one (Silver Honda Fury) and the middle one (79 CB 750 Chopper)..

Bob, did you sell you current chopper?  Number 2 seems to be similar but with the handlebar setup that I mentioned would go better with the mid controls after I rode it.

Number 3 is what I think of when I think chopper, except for the engine of course.

The Fury would be a bike you can just hop on and ride while I'm sure the others will require tinkering.

Have fun making the decision.

No I did not sell my current chopper.  I decided to keep it, and change it up a little maybe or just leave it be.  I am just thinking of adding to the herd.  Lol

I went to Cycle Trader, etc and completely agree with Wildroamer -- the Silver Fury is a beauty and I think the best look of all Fury combinations I saw.  Liquid Silver.  The wheels and seat disappear leaving the flow in the foreground.  It's in motion sitting on its sidestand.

Bob,

I'm puzzled here and perhaps you can explain. Sometime back at Fall Creek Falls you were talking about selling your Stelvio as it was getting to big to handle (I agree) and then a week ago about selling ALL of your bikes. Now you are not selling any bikes but think of buying two more (retro-choppers)?

Yes, that’s why I said in my post title I think I am going nuts!  :embarassed: I can’t explain it but I have had a complete change of heart regarding my “toys”.  For some reason I have been riding (in the cold temperatures), except for the last few days as I am out of state for the Holidays,  and I have been motorcycle reborn, so to speak.  I can’t explain it but I have a hunger to add more bikes to my herd.  (I still might sell a bike or two that I have now).   Then I started looking and so far I haven’t decided which toy(s) to add but I’m looking at a Honda Fury, two old Honda cb 750 choppers, a Jeep Wrangler, or a Pontiac solstice!  It’s almost like I am going through a midlife crisis at the age of 63!  This year I sold my 1973 VW beetle, and my 1990 f150, and last year I sold my 1952 Studebaker, so maybe that is why I am looking to add more toys, but I cannot explain the change of heart.  I didnt say for 100% sure that I am not selling any of my existing bikes, (Stelvio, Gold Wing, 1971 Honda CB 750 Chopper) as that is still a possibility, but I am looking at adding some too.

I do know my riding style has changed (maybe because I am getting older) but carving up curves at a fast speed does not interest me at all.  More laid back enjoy the scenery type riding is now my forte!  Again, I can’t explain why but I have had a complete change of heart over the past couple of weeks or so!

Maybe I really am going nuts!   :undecided:

Merry Christmas!   :bike-037:

I owned an '06 Solstice.  If you can, go for an '09 turbo.  Gets better fuel economy when babying it, but plenty of power when wanted.  I loved that car, but in the end it competed too much with the bikes.  When ever the weather was perfect for top down driving, I would rather be on the bikes.

another possibility as it is about 120 pounds less (wet weight) then my Stelvio!  2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer XCX.

It may be lighter, but the one I test rode was a huge bike IMO.  The rider triangle was very open and it just felt like it was made for a rider over 6 feet tall.  Have you sat on one yet?

I always thought the Fury was about the best refined idea for a reliable chopper. The CB 750 chopper always left me feeling funny, however.
