There have been “street adventure” bikes for over a decade. This is not news.

That will depend on the Guzzi marketing dept and whether they think its worth the effort.
Triumph has gone this route with the Tiger, the off road focused models get spoked wheels with a larger diameter front wheel, the more on road focused get cast with generally a 19 inch front.
Not everyone who rides an "adventure" bike has the requirement, skill or want to take 200kg plus motorcycles off road,  most however do want something comfortable with good fuel range and an "all road" capability.
There is a definate nitch in the market for such a bike.
Now the question is has Guzzi been paying attention.

Cheers
Pete (no not the Bungendore one)

Who said it was news? It was a question...when?

On the other hand, thank you Pete for adding some value to the discussion,

Motorcycle Daily, and BMW.

There are aftermarket wheel makers.  You don't have to wait until MG makes them.

I would have thought that Guzzi would have equipped the Travel model with cast wheels.  Had they done so, there probably be one parked in my garage now.

I am not a fan of tubes in high speed motorcycles.  This is probably what has kept me from buying the V85TT, but I don't want cast wheels on it either.  They should have put tubeless spoked rims even if it raised the price of the bike $500.

I've had no issues or flats with tubes on my Himalayan or Van Van.

I always put a new tube when changing tires.

I'm told the Van Van can limp home with no air in the tires and good luck breaking the bead to change out a tube.

In over 300,000 miles I have only had to do a roadside repair once (tubeless).

I have discovered a nail in the rear tire during pre-ride inspections at home twice (tubeless).

I had my wife come get me once because I was only 30 miles away and the tube was shredded, and got a tow 60 miles to home once because I couldn't find the puncture in the pouring rain at the end of a 4000 mile ride and just wanted to get home  (tubeless).

So, 5 flats in over 300,000 miles.  Not too bad I guess.

I don’t have one of these bikes but what about doing the process of converting a tube type wheel to tubeless?
From what I understand it can be accomplished  rather easily and effectively.

From what I understand it can be accompanied rather easily and effectively.

I'm with the King of the Fleecing ( :boozing: )

Even if you seal em, you still have to check spoke tightness and potentially might need to true them eventually, you still might want to clean them (PIA).

Thing is I don't even prefer the look of the spokes.

So I would need a STRONG reason to settle for a bike that had one.

YMMV and all that, it's just a taste thing not a wrong or right thing.

I asked Jim Hamlin to swop out the wires for cast on my then new V7 IIIR. I made $200.00 and powder coated the cast wheels. I won't leave town on tubed tires,
I've had only one flat on a mc in 70 yrs. of riding motorcycles. I have a few bikes with wire wheels but doubt I would do an overnight ride on them.  R3~

I had a flat on the brand new Michelins on the Tundra in November and a week later on the Samauri on new AT tires. tiny finishing nail. Screw spokes. my V7III and the V85 got fixed first tire change. As I recall I had something like 7 flats between the 4 and 2 wheeled vehicles with maybe a total of 50,000 miles. Unlucky? Maybe but there is crap all over our highways.

Unlucky? Without any doubt, I'd say so. In over 200K of two wheel riding I've only had one flat. I don't consider that overly luck. Including four wheelers is not really useful for comparison. In terms of contact area you're comparing Cutie's with cucumbers. As far as cast wheels go, I've never owned a bike with cast wheels

Twowheeladdict, others?.
Please don't think I've not been 'tested'. Until 4 years ago I was averaging 30K+/year on motorcycles. B4 that there were a few bigger #/year. I also drove commercially cross country 5, 6 & 7 axle trucks. For a few years I did trade shows here - Mexico and in Europe. The burning question remains: Why is the flat always on the inside tire of a dual set?  Keep safe,   R3~

Probably for the same reason more rear punctures on motorcycles than front.  The front tire usually runs over the object first and stands it up, then it goes in the rear.  The inside rear is more in line with the front than the outside.  It could also be simply because it's harder to get to  .

New 85TT for 2021. Should have tubeless tyres.

Oh man!  This just got real!

I may hold out one more year because I want the Italian Flag colors with a red frame.  Trying to decide which bike to part with in order to get the V85TT is going to be a difficult decision.

Makes me wonder if that means a reduction in overall HP and now the same as the new V7.

That's the first question that popped into my mind. But I doubt it because I still expect the new V7 to have the smaller throttle body bore MUIG unit.
