The spoke appears to be shifted out onto lips on the rim. Interesting; not sure that I’ve seen this treatment before.

The BMW Airheads of the 1990s , R100R and GS, used similar rims with the spokes outside the tyre.

That's good news, but when will they offer a windshield that works worth a damn?  Stock is pretty useless and the aftermarket offerings appear to be not much better without a Frankensteining of wings, vents, etc.  Time they took the wind tunnel out of mothballs and used it for something other than a tourist attraction.

Been done for decades. My 1988 BMW has tubeless spoke wheels made that way and I'm pretty sure MG has used that configuration in the past.

Oh, I’m absolutely aware of tubeless rims and their various looks, but I just hadn’t noticed any where the rim had a slim, dedicated spoke-receiving lip extending out horizontally. Most others I’ve seen have been vertical extensions, be it on the outside of the rim or in-line with the vertical center, or the lip was more of a graduated ridge that appears to bear more strength over a thinner ridge that I see on this and the Caponord Rally.

Ok. I'm not seeing what you're seeing. Won't be the first, or last, time I don't understand. Here's the BMW's. Not my pic.

I agree, not the same as the drawing. The Guzzi rim spoke protrusion looks to be at a 45 deg or there abouts angle from the tyre sidewall. No matter its just a detail that isn't in the make or break category. Design evolution.

Sadly Euro 5 and coming Euro 5 B doesn't make it any easier to give it more Grund.

I'm under the impression the V85 was designed to meet EU V, if not also V B.

I feel like the Ducati Multistrada Enduro used a similar wheel design.
When I saw it in the shop I though the rims stuck out past the tires a bit, but it could have just been perspective.

You're right Kev, the v85tt was/is EU5 compliant since it's release.     Whoops, strike that!  I'm wrong.

The 2019 and 2020 are Euro 4 compliant not 5.  Look under technical specs on the MG website.

My crude understanding of the difference is lower limits and Euro 5 requires the motorcycle to meet those requirements over the life of the bike where Euro 4 had a mileage limit. Not sure what impact that has on the design.

With still being Air cooled and to be in commplience with Euro V B. Guess that was all the power MG could get out of this Motor.
To Boot, there are also Noise level Restrictions in place in certain Areas of Europe and more coming .95 dbA in idle also causes Restrictions.
