I live 10 miles north of the groundhog capital,no spectators this year due to the pandemic. Punxsutawney is usually packed this time of year,     Its estimated it brings in 1 millions dollars to that little town every year, hopefully better days ahead .

I actually did that. On a week long float trip, the rain came, water got murky, catch no fishy, shoot whistlepig w/ .22,  start fire, eat whistle pig. Wasn't bad <shrug>

I know...because I hunted them as a teenager in the fields of upstate New York...but not many people know whey groundhogs were called..."WHISTLE PIGS"..
