I wanted a 2WD, regular cab, V8, 8ft bed when I got this truck. In the northeast all you could get 4x4s with crew or extended cabs. Found this in North Carolina so rode the EV down to get it.

Pete

Ya they are all loaded 4x4's up here..  I dont mind 4x4..  I dont really need it though, but a 8' bed manual trans is really on the list..  Up here you almost have to go back to the early 2000's to find a manual, and they are all rotted away..  So I continue working on my old powerwagon..  I will miss not having AC, and ya, a OD gear would be nice...  but I just need a truck, and not something to travel in.  She looks rough, and she is...  but the frame is rock solid, and it has 20K miles on her...  Set a budget for 3500, and thats less then I can pick up a just as rotted newer truck from the 2000's for..

Cheap-Assed old Guzzi riders never fail to disappoint.  Especially when it comes to bragging about being Cheap-Assed old Guzzi riders...

I really don't think I'm old enough or cheap enough to be a "Guzzi" rider.

I mean, never say never, but I don't know if I ever will be either.   :boozing:

Still love em though.

My truck was once a Subaru too (I miss it):

Scratching my head on that one.

Did you bolt down a C channel beam to support the bike?  Did the front rise up some from the weight behind the rear axle?

The Scoobie-Do tail-gate was the tail-gate of The Beast - rated at 666# load capacity. I could probably put anything I owned in/on it (assuming there was enough length) well, anything but the RK.

I've seen some of the Scoobie-Truck owners weld up a channel that attaches to the tow hitch when they needed more length. But I never ran into that problem on the rare occasion I loaded it up. Well, in this case I think it was also on a sturdy plank that was strapped down to the bed just to make sure we had the length.

Chassis handled it fine - but it also towed our 2500# bay boat, and a utility trailer with over a ton of stone without worry too.

Great little Truckette.

Or cranky enough. I've felt that way since I first signed up here. Have never felt like I belonged in this group.
Came close to selling my bikes just because of that. And lately it's got even worse here.

Yet, you've been a contributing member for going on 12-years!

I feel the same way, sometimes, but the singular reason we're here keeps me here.  Moto Guzzi.

It's fun and interesting interacting with people from all over The USA and all over The World who own and ride Guzzis.  We're all different, and maybe that's where the feeling creeps in from, sometimes.

In addition to chatting with people from all over The World, I've been happy to meet some of them, at the various Guzzi events over the years.  Living here in the middle of The USA, without WildGuzzi, I'd never have met people from Australia, Tasmania, Hawaii, Alaska, Maine, Colorado, Virginia, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and even more mundane places like Kansas.  I didn't know anyone from Kansas before I owned a Guzzi, and now my favorite Guzzi event is in Cedar Vale Kansas.  Imagine that!

I don't know how being a "Guzzi" rider would be considered cheap.  They are still more expensive than an equivalent year, mileage, model than a Japanese motorcycle to buy and to maintain.

I really think I want a V85TT to round out my stable, but then I think about how much it costs compared to Japanese bikes and whether or not parts availability could dry up, etc.  Just not sure about having two Guzzis in the stable, but no other mid size adventure bike really does anything for me.
