Front Brake Micro Switch: Jackal
« on: March 05, 2021, 03:51:53 PM »
fiddling with the right side switch gear, and snagged the wire, snapping the blades off the micro switch. So I need a new one.

The OE has two blades in use, and a third that's apparently epoxy sealed. 10mm wrench for reference

found this switch for replacement. Is it as simple as eliminating the center blade? thanks in advance for your input.

Probably, the switches are a standard mounting with different accessories, I found one in Radio Shack for one of my bikes.
The third blade will be the other contact and can be ignored.
If you open up the Technical Datasheet you will see more details, made by Cherry same as the one I got from RS

MG Cycles and Harper's both have them.  I've gone through 2 or 3 of them.

If memory serves the originals only had two blades so if yours has evidence of three blades it was probably a replacement. Some of the replacements have blades that are solder only not the type to accept the push on fasteners as original. I used to solder on two wires to make up a short harness with a molex connectors to plug into the modified original wires. This switch was used on a lot of Brembo master cylinders for a lot of years.

I'm sure you're aware of the option but just in case, I much preferred the hydraulic switch I installed on my Jackal after futzing with the OEM style switch one too many times.
