Just be careful of you ever ride in sticky mud. The front will load up and either rip off the fender or lock the front wheel.
On my street touring/adventure rig I like the combo of the low fender, fender extender and skid plate.
But even with this set up the front of the motor still gets dirty when riding in the rain or dirt. The spray and fling from the front tire still find its way around the blockade just not as bad. The bigger benefit is it keeps the front of the motor from being media blasted with all manner of road debris.
