What do we think of this Lemans on eBay?  I haven't spent much time looking it over but it does look very original - mostly.

It’s worth whatever someone who wants one is willing to pay and what the seller will accept.For someone who is a collector 26000 is ok if it is not an investment.

If hes looking for 26K, ebay's the wrong place.

Clear coating over original paint on an unrestored bike that's a prized model in good condition is not a smart move, especially if one wants to sell it for top dollar later.   If that's how he's approached the bike as an owner and rider (and mechanic, whether casual or serious), I would be not be willing to buy it without a careful in-person inspection.

$26,000 is a LOT of lettuce to pay...but what the heck...it's only $$$ MONEY $$$

It’s been on eBay before, never got close to the current asking price. I have seen several nicer ones go for less. IMHO it’s an $18K bike

That is what I thought it was worth and I believe that clear coat can be removed by a pro.

I can only imagine a collector would be interested in bike like this. Stock, the bike has many flaws that a rider would want corrected as many of us have. Suspension is just a start.

It may be feasible to remove the clearcoat.  But it won't be done by a pro for free and if he's already had sandpaper on it, even if only 2000 grit, there's not going to be much room for error.  Both are negatives towards his valuation. Even though I have no issues with transparent original paint, it doesn't appeal to everyone.
