I've seen others hobbies here, from airplanes to hotrods. This is mine.
Just rebuilt. I originally put this together from parts fifteen years ago.

The boat mover is coming next Saturday. Will be good to be back in after a years hiatus. I did ride my bikes a bunch more last year. New venue this year, got a slip in the lower CT River. Was in Niantic for 14 years.

Boating is the other summer hobby. We run a 25’ Ken Flowers bass boat, mostly just inshore anchoring up with the dog and whichever kids will come along, but a few trips outside for striped bass, fluke or whale watching. The single diesel is remarkably easy to own but there is always something to work on. It’s more like break out another $5,000.

I'm more of a sailor, canoer, light tackle fisherman, but I can appreciate a nice boat and well done engine when I see one.  Very Nice!

Its a '69 Owens Concorde 27. I got it for free in '03, (Guzzi content) dragged out of the woods in Groton where it had been abandoned for 13 years. Took three years to get it to 75% where I could run it and decide to keep it, or not, then another two years to finish the systems and cosmetics. I did all the work myself. Everything that you see in the engine compartment photo, the deck structure, surfaces in the cockpit, wiring, plumbing, tanks, I put in new. The metal tank is the sanitary holding tank, couldn't find anything to fit, so made it from 16 ga. 304 SS. The cabin was gutted, with new wiring, plumbing, a new headliner, wood trim, upholstery, and laminate surfaces. Outside is the original gel coat. She's been a good boat, sturdy and seaworthy. We can live aboard for a week or so. Long weekends holed up in some lagoon in Great Peconic Bay, day trips to anchorages where we can hang out, go swimming, etc., some bottom fishing. The Race and Plum Gut are close by for great fishing for stripers and blues.
Heading for a week on Block Island August '19 she overheated and then hydrolocked. An exhaust manifold water jacket failed and coolant got into one cylinder bank, requiring a partial rebuild.
Yeah, it is a big hole in the water to throw money into, but we like being out there. I have probably $20K in parts into it now, but when you consider that a new cruiser this size can cost $200K plus, I'm still ahead.

Very nice! Looks a lot like a Fortier 26, but with prettier lines. There's a few Fortiers around here. Never seen a Ken Flowers.

Thanks Larry. It’s a Calvin Beal design from the same mold as the T Jason 25.  Flowers Boatworks in Damariscotta had the mold briefly and built 3 25’s around 2004.  He mostly builds larger commercial boats and some cruisers. 

Your Concordia has a great looking hull and must sound great. Also your engine bay is very roomy and well set up. She must cruise quite a bit faster than Daisy, who tops out at 20 knots and is happy around 15 at 6gph. Without a plumbed head or a shower we are limited to day trips.
