I am really enjoying the V7-850.  It has a more substantial feel to it that I like.

I suppose I might have expected a change to top end gearing to drop a few revs since there is a power increase with the new motor.

Really?  I can't even put my V7III into 6th gear until I am doing 70 mph and above.  These aren't really interstate bikes and I am only on the interstate for an exit or two to avoid other roads.

I sometimes miss polishing a motorcycle, but the matte finish on my Aluminum, has grown on me and rarely looks dirty.
I chose the anniversary V7, as I wanted cast wheels and an Anniversary Model.
It's my Cappuccino Crawler, and I love it.

I can drop my v9 in 6th at 65 on flat IL road without complaint, but it feels more “right “ at the and up.
My favorite gear to play in is 4th, it’s amazingly dynamic!

I agree generally speaking, with a few exceptions. First, as with many of my past Guzzi's, the speedo is optimistic. 80 indicated is really closer to 70. (a little above actually) Second, as for interstate riding, leaving the Ohio Rally I was tired and it was raining. Under those circumstances, my interest in getting home quickly out weighed taking twisty roads, with the latter adding about two hours to the trip in good weather.

In reality, it had no trouble doing what I asked of it. It took years to get from 45 or so to 52 and they made changes to the ratios. You might think a 13 hp increase might do the same. They changed the ratios from the II to the III. (1st and 6th)

I put a slightly larger rear tire thus changing my overall ratio and making my speedo more accurate.  Within 3 mph compared with my GPS.

Nice choice!  Glad you are getting on with it!  The cast wheels and 100 year paint also swayed me from that pretty blue Special

The posts and reviews I’m reading are killing me! I’d sure love to get one of these, but I haven’t had a shifty of any kind in the garage in a couple of years. Scooters only, a BV350 and a Vespa GTS. Whenever I have a third bike one seems to get neglected. I’m just over 30,000 miles on the BV and feel like it has a lot of life left in it. But Guzzis are like a virus that never quite goes away

The only other Goose I’ve ever owned was a 2002 Lemans I bought new and returned under lemon law it had so many issues. It was a 2.5 year battle I never want to go through again.

But when it ran it was like nothing else I’ve owned. I’ve never forgotten it. So yes, a virus!

They are like that for sure.  My MG story started with an addicted friend who wanted me to drive all night with him in the winter and sleep in the truck in a rest stop to pick up this killer deal left over 2002 Stone from a dealer in NY in 2004.  Being much younger and stupider, I agreed.  Got it home and I had one ride on it before the clutch stopped working at 1,500 miles.  I never forget the feel of that bike, the Guzzi feel that we all know but can't adequately describe.  He got rid of that one soon after and has never had another in spite of how good the newer ones have become, and my prodding.  At any rate, over the next years, I continued to ride Beemers.  A local fellow whom I actually bought a 2004 BMW RT from when he was a salesman at the then local BMW store (since closed) decided to take the plunge in 2015 and opened a Guzzi store to go with his busy used bike and repair business.  That is Cadre, and Enzo is the man.  His enthusiasm was infectious so I did some test rides over the next few years, but my K1200RS was serving me at the time.  I really liked the 1400 Eldorado, but could not see a realistic path to owning that bike.  Then, the RS spit out its rear diff., and I did not want to dump more money into it and at that exact time, Enzo had the Blue Guzz in stock, a pristine under 500 mile 2015 Cali Custom that was about 6 months old and I joined this tribe.  Those devils at Guzzi had to send that Demo Truck around with the V85TT's and here I am.

Got my Centenario yesterday. Had a stutter/hiccup. Removed the evap - stutter gone. Spent today fitting Mistrals, MG flat handlebar and some other jobs.  Cracking bike and so easy to live with so far.

I popped off the lower hose of the breather valve and capped it off.   I left the canister in place for now until I can get it on my lift, because I didn't feel like rolling around on the garage floor today. 

What an immediate and satisfying improvement!  Hiccups completely gone!

We bought a used Givi 140S windscreen for the Roamer last year (thanks again MMRanch!) and had it on the shelf.  The bracket needed a spacer either side of the headlight for a snug fit, and pads on top of the headlight ears to adjust the angle and clear the gauges.  Had it on the bike in just a few minutes:





Last week we took a notion to ride down to St Augustine and visit some kinfolks, so I crammed the trusty old tail bag plumb full and away we went.  The screen provides excellent coverage with no buffeting, I like it better than the Dart Marlin I've used in the past.  This luggage and windscreen combo suits me very well, the bike was stable as could be at the upper range of interstate speeds and passing scenarios, semis, RV's, flying SUV's, tanker trucks, you name it.  4500 rpm puts you at 80 mph on the speedo and 77 on the gps, 49.82 mpg per the calculator on my phone.

Thank you!  I think the 140S is considered multi-fit, and you buy the brackets to fit the particular bike.
