I'm selling a 1989 Porsche 944S2 which I bought from an estate with no maintenance paperwork. Needless to say it was a very good deal..Now I'd like to sell and was hoping someone here might have used an online service to fill in the gaps in the records and were happy with the report. I thought carfax reports provided detailed maintenance records but was disappointed with the result.

They only provide detailed maintenance records if the vehicle was maintained by a dealer or service center that reports to carfax.

If it was maintained at home or by a small private technician, there won't be any online footprints.

Service history or not, I think you’ll find now is a great time to sell. Just sold my ‘18 Cayman on-line, sight unseen by the buyer, and it went for more than I bought it for.

Thanks for that. I think I'm not asking enough and therefore potential buyers are skeptical. It is in very good shape. If I could get someone to actually look at it, I believe they'd buy it

You might do pretty well with it there!

Buyer pays the premiums and for shipping. $99 fee for a basic listing.

Just be honest, take a lot of pics, and cold start video is a REALLY big help.

Every state has multiple regions of the PCA - Porsche Club of America.  Look for the one in your area, and post it there.  Most likely that local chapter will also have a Facebook page as well, and also local GTG's (Get Togethers).  A car like that should move quickly thru the Porsche community...you could also post an ad with PCA in their magazine. 
I'd say if you were down here in Houston, the car would move in a couple of weeks...there seems to be a fair amount of traffic on older Porsches, and there's always someone who either wants a project car, or looking to do a full restore.

What sort of condition is the car in?  Maybe post some pics here too for interest.
