Aftermarket luggage or racks for 1400 Cali?
« on: October 31, 2021, 04:41:42 PM »
Is there any? I like the look of MG’s factory top case for the 1400 California, but it looks too far back to be useful for a passenger nacktest. Are there aftermarket options? I haven’t found any yet.

Thanks.

Hepco and Becker made a low backrest for the 1400, but fyi, the guzzi 50 L  box on the oem guzzi rear rack is perfect for a pillion backrest.  I have that set up on a 1400 custom and the wife and daughter love it .

Thanks for the feedback! Just looking at it, I would never have guessed it’s close enough, but it’s good to hear it’s right!

Hi Bul,                                                                             11-01-21

I second that emotion!  I have the same set up as Lucian and my wife Barbara finds it very comfortable.  It is a bit expensive, but I got mine slightly used of flea bay. I tend not to have it on the bike unless I need it because it makes the bike a bit top heavy.  Also, it is more difficult to swing my leg around when mounting/dismounting.  I imagine those small drawbacks are the same with any top case.

Enjoy the Cali 1400, it's a great bike.

The guy in DE took off a bunch of stuff off his Cal 1400 and is selling them.

Go to the Swap Meet section of the forum.  I think it's Roadadventure in Millville, DE.
