 Don't believe the  inaccurate and sensationalized crap of the news media. A few years ago I drove 750 miles round trip to Brooklyn to pick up a vintage Triumph I got on Ebay..It was a  Friday night, I got lost and had to ask directions from locals..I also has $3800 cash on me...Every one was friendly, I was never in fear. But it was just too many people..Ok, I grew up near NYC but that was half a century ago..l
 Chuck, you are not all that far from NYC...just do it, no excuses...

All the headlight stuff from forks forward, BUT I have 96 Sport forks now. My stock fairing is perfect, I was using an AirTech fairing with no turn signals. I used my arm for signaling. I have mine pretty sorted just need $ to continue my project. Only been 14yrs.
I have enough old Guzzi stuff my wife rags about.

Yeah, that part of Brooklyn is pretty safe unless you're walking around sporting a pair of lederhosen, checking out a tourist map, pointing at the tall buildings and showing loose $20's in your pocket@ 3am.  And the lederhosen would go unnoticed minus all the other out of towner looks.

I have no doubt it's "safe" to go there, I just have no desire to ever go back (again). Back in the '80s my brother and I went to a place called Porsche Auto Recyclers at (IIRC) 206 Broadway. Sister's truck, borrowed trailer, dead of Winter... twice. Picked up a 924 Sebring Edition the first time and a 911 Weissach the second.

206 Broadway in Brooklyn in the 80's was marginal at best during the day and dangerous at night,  but you were just a few minutes from Manfred's place on Kent Ave.

In the mid-80's I had a loft right by Manfred's but I don't remember a Porsche place on Broadway, but that was 35+ years ago.
