Predictions for 2022
« on: December 17, 2021, 07:12:41 AM »
As 2021 comes to a close, I’m offering some predictions, for the coming year. Feel free to join in.

Cel phone manufacturers, will introduce new technology, to combat driving and mobile phone use. This new feature, will cause the microphone and speaker on your cel phone, to stop working, anytime the vehicle exceeds 3 mph. Distracted driving accidents will fall by 94%.

Harley Davidson’s Marketing department, in conjunction with the sales department, will offer a new trade in promotion early next year. The incentive, is just for T shirts. Customers will get full 100% retail value, minus laundering charges, for any HD T-shirt, traded on a new 2022 model T shirt. Dealers report a huge success, with literally hundreds of thousands of used T Shirts moving through the stores. Harley Davidson is so pleased, they plan to add sweat shirts, bandanas, and more to the 100% trade in program.

BMW hires a Jackson Pollack protege, to head their motorcycle design team. Motorcycle buyers are perplexed by the new designs, and aren’t sure if the bikes in the showroom are motorcycles, or are rolling Petri dishes. The faithful buy them all.

Over at Piaggio, the European Union, desperate for a financial stabilization, reaches out to the iconic motorcycle company, and instills some common sense, best practices. They sack all of the current executives, and middle management incompetent staff. Eric Buell is hired to oversee Dealer retention and growth in the US and other key markets. Within 9 months of Buell’s hiring, Moto Guzzi dealerships now rival the number of Honda stores, with at least 9 dealers in every state in the US, as well as throughout Canada. Buell pays special attention to re signing dealers that had left due to frustration over warranty issue.

Keeping fingers crossed to see if any of this happens.

Every vehicle will have a code # hard wired into the ECU.
When required, a pursuing officer can enter the licence plate details (which is linked to that vehicle upon registration),  that will bring up the code on his screen, which can be dialled and it will disable the ignition in the vehicle.
OJ Simpson type chases can be brought to a prompt and safe conclusion in the first minute.
If the system has been intentionally disabled, the vehicle is impounded and crushed....

NCDAN will be put in a straight jacket and sent off to stay in the nervous hospital with Carl.   Allright then  :thumb:

I will at least double my 2021 total riding mileage (which ain't sayin' much).

There will be at least 3 new - variants (and most folks won't care).

The V100 Mandello will be named MOTY (unless there's a LeMans version released).

I'll get so tired of corporate life I retire early (even though I'll need to do something - hopefully fun - for income).

On a more positive note, instead of making jokes of those who have passed....
Betty White will turn 100 January 17th.
Always known her to be a kind lady.
She is an animal rights advocate.
She's been involved with the Los Angeles SPCA since the '60s and helps fundraise for Wildlife Waystation .

I have three predictions.   1) Somebody is going to post some crap on Wild Guzzi.  2) folks will get upset over it.  3) a moderator will have to clean up the mess.
