2 up report on a V7-850?
« on: March 24, 2022, 04:54:54 PM »
So, you V7-850 owners, what’s the scoop on two up riding?
Not that you’d tour cross country but, wondering how they do with a passenger and some luggage on combined roads?
Weekend trips?
Thanks,
inditx

Just make sure you’re VERY good friends, because you will be by the end.

A buddy who is 250+ and his lady friend 120ish rode the entire US-50 from the Atlantic to the pacific then back to Pennsylvania on a BMW F650 several years back. 20+ days on the road.

It's not the arrow it's the Indian.

True enough but would like to hear of experiences on the V.

I have taken my wife with me on a V7 ii 1200 mile round trip. Not the most comfortable bike made for that but it worked for us with seat beads and her being a good sport about it. Frequent stretching at fuel stops. It’s definitely doable.

I have road with her limited distances on my V7 850 and it’s hard to get her to ride two up more now she has her own bike. She told me it wasn’t bad at all but she would like a little more cushion. She prefers her own bike and I can’t blame her. I really need to blame myself as I corrupted her and enabled the purchase of a motorcycle of her very own….

The 850 is noticeably better two up imo.

I am trying to get my v7 850 special set up for cross country 2-up touring. All seems ready except for the windscreen; need something with more protection and less wind noise. Otherwise, the bike seems suitable for the task. We have already taken a few 200 mile trips with no issues. We are not large folks: 270 lbs beyween us. Anybody have a suggestion for a good winscreen?
Bikes: 2007 Norge, YAM RD250, 2017 Indian Scout. 2021 V7 850 Special

I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonopah

I’ve seen a few 850’s w/ capital cycle “street shield EX” . It’s a bit much for me so I went with a plain street shield . It took a short ride or 2 to get it where i wanted it .happy now !

If you want to go 2 up and she has her own bike, maybe you could go on the back..?

I’m not opposed to it. I don’t think she is comfortable with the idea yet.
