2018 Ford F150 pickup truck with 70,000 miles.
New tires yesterday and rear brake pads today.
The local parts store turned the rotors for $25/ea.
Front pads still have 7mm.

That looks great, sir.  I’ve got some equipment waiting for similar attention someday.

Right now while waiting for stone to arrive, I’m doing videos of accurately squaring a rough block of granite by hand with plumb blocks, straight edge and level for my YouTube Virtual Stone Carving Apprenticeship series-

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_1Ai-Hj_MMN-dHVeTqtGRQF-EgBbTAql

This is a traditional exercise to train new people how to handle the tools and produce accurate surfaces, edges & corners.  Great practice and a very sublime result.  Hoping to finish side 4 this morning and side 5 this afternoon.

Then the cubed block will immediately be displayed for 6-8 wks in a gallery show as a piece of interactive realism sculpture entitled Kiku (Japanese for “Listen”).  many people claim or ask me if the stone speaks to me….  No.  It’s a piece of stone.

So this block will provide such people opportunity to listen to the stone themselves to see what it says to them before I make something else from it for next year’s show.  Already have plans for it, based upon my apprenticeship adventure.

Im not going to lie that that is really interesting. Ill be searching rock carving today im sure!

It’s a great exercise to do.

Original block with 5 rough / split sides and one damaged flat side that had to be cut in a different plane-

Several videos later, here’s a pic from this afternoon showing side 6 nearing completion.  Most work has been done with the tools on the stone plus a couple more chisels and my grandfather’s plumb blocks..

Very, very cool

Took the time to clean the underside of my bv250 to find a tiny persistent leak…it was the low oil pressure sensor. Parts ordered, joy found, right turns can be made again with out the thought of oil on the rear wheel…

Rolled to 28,xxx miles. Best ride ever for these older legs. Attracts chicks…

Sealed my V85TT wheels, mounted and balanced the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STRs. Both are holding air but I'm going to wait another day before putting them back on the bike .
