Did you remove the plastic “seal” from the filter when to unboxed it?If so, do what GS said…It’ll save you a fortune in underpants and toilet paper… Then throw a switch at it… BTW..I have not seen your bike but it’s beautiful..
Lots of good sugggestions above.Did you remove the spacer too, just in case you did and had the internals out, I'd check the base gaskets at the top of the spacer are the right way round.John
Did the old thick rubber gasket come off with the old filter or could you have two of those seals on top of each other?
Gentlemen,Thanks to all! I dug through my garbage this morning, found the old filter and, sure enough, the gasket was missing. Gee, I wonder where is might be! Looks like I made a real amateur mistake which makes total sense when I think about it.You guys are the best! Thanks

That was my first thought. Did you install the pan gasket wrong, or did it get damanged in a way that left the oil ports unsealed?
Sport engine doesn't have a spacer like the Californias.
I thought they were "Broadsumps" in which case they do have a spacer, that flares out to accomodate the wider panIt's held on by separate set of bolts internally, but the spacer can be removed and the gaskets installed wrong.I initially mentioned it as a long shot, you wouldn't drop it though if just cleaning the pan but it can be removed without too much effort.BUT that's ASS-uming the V11 is a broadsump, I'm not 100% certain
My EV has a spacer and gaskets on both sides. If you get one of the gaskets upside down, you'll get an oil light. Don't tell me how I know this. My V11 Sport has no spacer, at least nothing comes off with the pan. The pan also has manhole cover to change the filter, but the filter has to fit in the hole with the right wrench to tighten it. It's also easy to cross thread the manhole too.
Just a warning, when using a filter like the Bosch with a stick on label remove it first or the hot oil will. It will then plug something!
