Vent Cali 1100 final drive

New rear wheel side seal on '01 Jackal replaced, leak solved. Fast forward 2 weeks and about 2K miles and leak returns. Seal looks intact. Advised to improve venting by placing a banjo bolt / tubing @ final drive. Has anyone done this, and if so, pics / tips are appreciated. This is 1 or 2 above my current pay grade! TIA

The rear drive is opened into the swingarm cavity. It tends to have a few opportunities to leak air from the swingarm. Hard to imagine it needs vented.

Try riding and getting everything REALLY hot, then loosen and tighten the top bolt. Basically 'burp' out any air that you can if it is sealed tight. See if that helps.

V11 drives are often prone to seal leaks on the rear drive, attributed to the fact that they don't have the swingarm airspace as additional volume. Mine was bad, and only at the last service did I disassemble the rear drive, to find that a considerable amount of space was taken up by moly additive that had settled out into all the low corners and stayed, reducing the air volume even further. But this vent mod never had a breath of oil in the hose since I installed it, even before cleaning out the drive. Still, be certain your drive seals and bearings are all in top shape.

I am. Jim at Hamlin did the initial seal fix and inspected the final drive before returning the bike. FTR, synthetic gear oil was NOT used.

The hubs on Cali's I have found to be marginal for diameter, measure it if you want. The movement because of play for gearset is enough to pump it out. Just that slight movement back & forth plus hubs too small and it comes out.
Might try a different hub, measure the OD where seal rides.

Yikes.  All wheel bearings were replaced on that Jackal with high quality Japanese bearings-not cheap AllBalls bearings.
In the 12K or so I owned the bike ZERO issues from the rear drive.  I'm totally perplexed.

Not a big deal Jim. Hamlin, and others here, feel it's a venting issue. I'm going to start with Wayne's suggestion and go forward as results dictate. The system is already "burped" so I'm putting everything back together today and go from there. If it still leaks the next step will be a banjo bolt and tubing run under the fuel tank to vent. I did receive a new (used) axle as the very slight bend may have contributed. What is interesting, or perhaps not as I have no experience with this issue, is it leaks when on the centerstand after riding, but not on the side stand. anyway, thanks for all the suggestions and I'll report results.

Finally had a chance to get things back together and go for a ride yesterday. Quick 100+ miles or so. So far, no leaks, so hopefully it was a venting issue. If, after some miles pile up it leaks again, I will vent as suggested. Thanks to all for your help!
