Guzzis Have Become Commonplace!

Guzzis are getting almost as common as Harleys and beemers.

OK, mebbe not, but while hardly ubiquitous yet, they are sure less of the curiosity they once were.  And they seem to be drawing buyers from outside of the "cult."

Kathi and I are on our first getaway in years that isn’t duty of the eldercare sort or visiting our kids and grands.

Staying at a small and very nice place in the country near Wellsboro, Pa.

Had a brief chat with him before he and his bud went out for a ride.  They apparently come here often. Have to get the Guzzi guy's name later (Jack?), but he’s from Joisey.  Said it's his first Guzzi and he's on its maiden long trip.

I see a little bit of everything here in Austin thanks to AF1 but I get the point.  My long time riding buddy is on his first Guzzi- a V85.

I bought my EV in 2018, bought my V7 III a month or so ago. Both were hard to find for sale within reasonable driving/riding distance.
I have yet to see another Guzzi out in the wild, except for the Curtiss museum event in August.
Maybe it because the nearest dealer is over 3 hours away.

Wellsboro is a neat little town, lots of good motorcycle roads, if you haven’t been there yet give the Wellsboro diner a try. Well worth it !!!

Almost never see any local to me at all. Granted the nearest dealer is 2 hours away. Strange thing is 10-15 min to the mass boarder and into the Berkshires you start seeing a ton of them. Seems to just avoid crossing over to the NY side.

I dont get anything. Frankly I live in a aera where about 95% of the bikes are HD's. No one even knows what the heck I am riding, and they really dont know what to say..  Its not a HD for sure....  but its also not a Japanese Cruser to scoff at..  I kinda get the off to the side glances, and looks of confusion.

much the same in my location,  seems the prevailing mind set is:   if it's not a Muscle car, Pickup Truck or a Harley, then it's crap...  ( Could also include a "Bud Lite" in this group )

I didn't see many while I was there.  There was an SP somewhere near Ballston Spa, and there were a few of us that attended the Bennington Triumph Bash, but otherwise my EV was an anomaly.

blu guzz likely meant that the V85TT started the trend of Guzzis becoming more popular, not ADV bikes in general.

I think it started well before that with the "new" V7 series.

Thank you Charlie, yes, I wasn't as clear as I could have been.  I remember seeing the first R80G/S whenever it was new.  My thought at the time - who would buy this?  As it turned out, lots of people.

here Bill the B750s got the name out there, then the V7 series made them well known and indeed more common. Th V85's have certainly become popular, being ideally suited to NZ conditions.

Yeah I can’t go a month or two without seeing another Guzzi.

I saw one parked in my neighborhood and also saw another newer V7 850 driving around on expressway.

They're all over the place around here.  They even outnumber the McLarens!

I only see another guzzi when at one of our meet n greets.  Never see one just out and about.  Guzzi’s are very rare in my neck of the woods.

I thought I had the only MG in town, but my friend said that he just heard a lady at the rec center telling her friends that she just got a Moto Guzzi.

Harley has been manufacturing for 15-20 years longer than Guzzi...seems like some info shows HD starting in 1903 and other info shows 1906...but Guzzi started in 1921...
