Ewan McGregor. Moe's math is a bit off - 78 mm stroke with 88 mm bore yields 949 cc.

I “need” to make mention, that the bike is no better or worse because it’s owned by a bloke who makes his living by pretending he’s someone that he isn’t.
Got nothing against Ewan at all, he’s good at what he does.

I can and am prepared, to defend that point of view but he is just an actor. We put these people on a pedestal for reasons I can not really understand. Funny thing is, if he was pressed on that very issue he would in all likelihood agree.
I am very good friends with Paul Harris who sold Ewan most of his early Guzzi’s. Ewan used to come into the shop in Colling’s Wood if memory serves and was sometimes asked for an autograph to which he would always readily comply.
Paul once asked..
“Does it bother you that you are always pestered for an autograph..”?
Ewan replied..
“When I’m no longer asked, I’ll have to work for a living..”

I'm not a fan of of whatever they do to the alloy castings though (sandblasted?). They look white rather than a nice satin silver and feel rough to the touch (I had an identical V7 Sport done by Moe here a few years ago). Front tire is excessively wide, just as it was on the one that was here (so wide it was rubbing the fender mounts in fact). The paint was very nice though.

Didn't Ewan smoke a crank on the Ambassador he purchased?

What’s going on- where are all of the WG ATGATT police?!!?     The way he chirps/slides the rear wheel when he first pulls over, this video could have easily been more educational.  Gravity and the pavement are not enamored by celebrity, either…..

rebuilt? Yes.  restored? No- especially now that the unique V7 Sport engine dimensions are gone.

I don’t mind what they do or how they do it, how much they charge etc. We have limited options for these bikes and I appreciate anyone going out and trying to make a living doing what they love. I think they make some really nice shiny bikes with beautiful finishes. However I agree with cliff rod that at a certain point it’s hardly a V7, also I’m a bit skeptical about a trashed crank from a few over revs…? What else would cause that?
Would it have oiling issues to begin with?
Loose tolerances?

It wasn’t very difficult to wreck the crank in my V7 Sport.  All I did was change the old chrome bore cylinders, pistons & rings.  Because that’s ALL  I did, the crank didn’t survive very long….  No racing or crazy stuff, just regular riding. The original hardened journal faces were no longer serviceable.   So, when it was being properly rebuilt after that, the crank was turned to clean it up and there have been no problems since then.

Saying it was over revved to cause similar damage to what I experienced ?  Maybe so, especially if there wasn’t adequate or any oil in it..  Or maybe not.

That’s why I’m vocal about never taking short cuts when addressing chrome bores.

I've never smoked a crank, despite my mechanical ineptitude.

What is the bit/part at the left fuel tap?  Right side has a standard looking manual tap, but is the left side electric?  Or something else?

At the risk of sounding like a troglodyte I agree 100%.  A V7 Sport is only what it used to be.  Now it is a custom.

I love that bike but agree that the sandblasted aluminum is a little off.  As for Ewan MacGregor, I put him in the same category as Jay Leno, Keanu Reeves, Billy Joel, Steve McQueen and others.  For me they are true motorcyclists and therefore my brothers just like everyone here.  That they may be wealthy and famous is interesting and cool and would make them a hoot to hang out with.

I actually like all of it bar the exhausts. Always too long. I'd put a set of Mistrals on immediately. But then I'm not a restorer.
