Correct Oetiker hose clip pliers

Having read SMDLs woes with the filter failure on his V7 I'm thinking of doing a preemptive strike on my V9

I've squeezed  Oetiker hose clips with sidecutters before but I want to be certain that I get this right buried in the tank as it is

What are the correct pliers for tightening these clips?

Oetiker clamp pliers are what you are looking for.  I found a pair at a local auto store for a very reasonable price. They kind of squeeze the clamp and hold the shape of the ear while doing it.  Very easy to use and seem to work well.  Just be sure to get the right size clamp.

I don't know the newer Guzzi models, just be sure that your purchasing the correct pliers for the clamps.

Oetiker make several different types of clamps, I know this as my BMW uses Oetiker clamps on the rubbers between the Filter box and the TBs which are Oetiker and they are completely different to the ubiquitous "Ear" type clamps used comonly on fuel lines

The type on the BMW are a hook type and although easy to open are almost impossible to close without the correct tool.

I used the same tool (W83013) to change filters on my 1200 Sport and Griso 8vSE.

Those are the exact ones I use, I took off the middle part that sticks up.

Beemer boneyard is selling submersible hose for inside the tanks and they include a full circle style screw type hose clamp in their set.  Simple design but it does take up more space.  They are rated for fuel injection line pressures if they fit your hose size.  https://s.yimg.com/aah/yhst-15102260216258/2-pack-fuel-line-hose-clamps-3.jpg

Having side clamping too is a huge plus on many things.
