Thanksgiving day travels (U.S. content)
« on: November 24, 2022, 02:31:11 PM »
It is Thanksgiving Day today in the US.  Our get together is tomorrow, so that gave me time to get out today for a little bit.
First, I am thankful for the usual family and friends and good health.  Also, for

Moto Guzzis and you friends.

I live in an area of the U.S. state of Kentucky.  It is just below the fairly well known city of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Geologically, it is right about where the glaciers ran out of steam during the last ice age.  As such, the country is hilly but not mountainous.  This has allowed the human inhabitants to create some great roads.  Today, I ran mostly on ridge lines.  The trees are leafless now and the field of view is tremendous.  I will try to attach some pictures as examples.  The pavement is mostly good.  If you take away the couple of large population areas, the state is sparsely populated for its large land area.  Today's destination was Robertson County, known for having the smallest population in the state.  Only 2,200 souls live in the entire county.  In contrast, the cattle population is about 25 times that many.  With good roads and practically no people, it is rider heaven.

The temperature was in the upper 50s to low 60s, sunny, no gusts of wind, perfect.  You can see what it looks like from the pictures. I will post a few more as it cut me off with 2.  I am sorry that it posted the pictures in the middle of a sentence, but to continue, thankful for Moto Guzzi and you folks to read my rantings.

Ride safe all.

This is the old courthouse in Mount Olivet, the county seat.  Not much happening today, or most days.

All in, about 80-90 miles.

A good day.

I thought about saddling up to go on a beer run earlier, but it’s 48 degrees and drizzling in the Ozarks so I took the truck. Sipping some Bulliet bourbon and chasing with the King of beers BUDWEISER 👍
