This add popped up on my home page and note the bike.......bags look pretty good. I bought a helmet and jacket from this site and all is good with them.

Got my new bags!

Yes!

There are many riders of ADV bikes that have both hard and soft bags.  They use hard bags when on a road tour. Especially when staying in hotels, and soft bags when doing a BDR and camping.  Both have their plusses and minuses.

Dave Swanson's bike looks great with those soft bags.

Bob, did you ever make up your mind/order something?

I ask because I was browsing today at Moto Machines as I've been thinking about adding bags to the Carbon Dark, when I saw these new C-Bow bags by HB  for the first time. XCore:

They aren't available YET, and might not be in time for what you have planned but DAMN don't they address all the issues:

* Rugged
* Waterproof
* Top loading
* Lid can open in two separate directions OR be popped off completely!

That last should address any potential issues with most topcases.

Available in all black or black/silver - I think the all black would go great on the Carbon Dark.

Damn.... I like.

Yup them is attractive. Is the size a secret ? Maybe I missed it , how many liter’s or 12oz cans do they hold ? Or for our friends down under “oil cans”

~18L - so bigger than the C-Bow Strayker (~16L) and C-Bow Orbits (~15L), but nothing like the 30L Juniors or other bags that require the larger hard racks.

Still, that's a pretty nice compromise size to me. Combined with a 40L topcase that would give me nearly 80L of storage. More than enough for any of my trips.... and if I used the back seat for a duffel the sky is the limit.

I used these semi-rigid Chase Harper bags on my V7. Big enough to carry essentials but certainly not tour capable. I'm thinking about selling them if anyone is interested.

I like the Hepco & Becker Legacy Cbow bags on my W800, but for carrying more the Guzzi's aluminum panniers are better.

I couldn't resist!

I pre-ordered these for the Carbon Dark!

I can't wait (but I'll have to). I'll report back when the time finally comes!
