Are V7 Seats interchangeable ?
« on: March 01, 2023, 01:01:23 PM »
SO I have a V7 III Racer with a standard flat seat (passenger compatable) I'd like to get a used HUMP seat (racer seat) but the only ones affordable seem to be off of V7 II bikes. Does anyone know if a V7 II hump seat will fit on a V7 III racer ? Thank you all in advance.

I've had the same seat on a I, II, and III. However a Corbin won't interchange to the III because the rear shock mount was changed.

I have a V7 racer seat for my V7III.  Fits, but a little more gap at the tank.

Great looking Black V7 Racer ! Good 2 know they will fit different years seats. I'd like to have a racer hump seat for me , myself and I and then have the option of popping on the flat seat if I ever want to take a passenger. Cheers all.

Yes, there will be a gap fitting an earlier saddle on the V7 III but you can slide the tank back to close most of that gap.

I don't think the shock mount matters. In my case the Corbin on my V7I Stone is CLOSE to fitting on my V7III Carbon but the bolt for the sub-frame that the Carbon and SOME models of the III use JUST fouls the tapered section of the seat. I actually think I might be able to replace the bolts for the sub-frame with something shorter and make it fit - or conversely I might be able to shim down the catch a tiny bit more and make it fit as is.

I just haven't been motivated enough yet, but I might be in the near future as I'm setting up the Carbon for touring too.

I have the HB bags and rear rack on my III. The Corbin doesn't have the clearance for them like the stocker.

I've just got the HB rack, but I still think I could work.

Hell if I wanted to I could Dremel out a tiny bit of the cover and pan on either side where it fouls the sub frame bolt and make it work today. I just didn't want to go that direction if I don't have to.

I have since put that Corbin on the III. Doesn't quite latch without further modification, but otherwise works just fine.

Kicking this old thread back to life for, as they say, REASONS...

New to the forum, new(ish) to riding, and new to Guzzi as of this week. Just picked up my 2019 V7 iii Stone and we've had all of 40 miles together so far. Absolutely love the bike.

But the seat: it's comfortable enough but the Enfield spoiled me with its solo "touring" saddle, so I'm after that reassuring embrace of the backside... Been looking at the Guzzi OEM "single seat" over at AF1 https://www.af1racing.com/607029m-oem-moto-guzzi-single-seat-for-v7-607029m : part #607029M, which looks CLOSE to that racer seat in the top pic but may not be the same thing.

If that is, infact, the same seat, I assume the height is roughly the same as the factory standard? Or no? I'm on the short side & the V7 height is perfect as-is, just looking for that contour in the back.

Also: being new to Guzzi, I'm still getting a sense of trusted merchants in the scene. Seems like AF1 is much beloved, but their site is saying September for that single seat, whereas storeusa.motoguzzi is claiming 15 days to delivery. Any issues with storeusa.motoguzzi?

thanks, cheers, and all the things..

I asked a similar question, and from what I remember, the short answer is "no", it's not a direct swap.  I have a '23 V7 Special Edition, and wanted a hump seat like what's on the Corsa.  I found one that looks like it came off an earlier V7, but was told it was not a direct swap.  So I ended up getting a Corsa hump seat from AF1 Racing, fits perfectly, and it's at the upholstery shop getting a custom cover made.  The stock hump seat is all black, kinda boring, definitely looks like an add-on part, so I'm having a replacement cover done with a perforated Alcantara front seat panel, red and gray stitching, and the Moto Guzzi on the back done it gray stitching with a red outline.  Here are a couple of pics of the AF1 solo seat on my Special Edition:

And yes, I have the smaller Euro taillight on the way from Italy!

I bought that same racer seat that you linked and put in on my V7 I.  It is the same height as the factory standard but more comfortable and looks better.  With respect to online vendors for guzzi.  AF1 is great, I've purchased many things from them.  MG cycle is equally great, I use them all the time.  I bought my racer seat from Officine08.com because of the wait time listed on the AF1 website.  Officine.08 is a site out of Italy so you have currency conversion and international shipping to get through but in the end I did save a little bit of $ and got the seat a bit earlier than if I went with AF1.  I've never ordered from storeusa.motoguzzi, it appears to be the official moto guzzi webstore.

There are many other sites out there not specific to moto guzzi where you can also find parts and accessories.

The seats on the v7-850 are different. The other 750 seats will work just watch out for the ABS fuse. Easily moved. But the Corbons don't interchange when you hit 2017.
