No, I have 13 hours on it now. It's a scratch built ultralight (wood wings, 4130 fuselage, aluminum tail, all fabric covered) called a "Legal Eagle."
Powerplant is a 3 cylinder Verner from the Czech Republic.. 42 thundering horsepower supplemented with a stick bird from John A.

I do see the Guzzi content.

I’ve always thought that motorcyclists are just pilots on a budget.

Like most mortals, I envy you.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Sure thing, JJ. Here, I had just brought the observation ship back from a sortie over the Western front. No enemy ships or balloons spotted.

Depends on rpm, but 57 mph at 2050 about 2 gallons per hour.

Of course.  The goggles aren't necessary, though. The scarf keeps the shoulder harness from chafing my delicate neck, and the helmet keeps my hairstyle from getting disarranged so I can chat up the ladies in the pub after a mission.

I was going to ask about radios and ceiling limits, but now that I've seen the aircraft, I withdraw the question.

Instead I will ask, "Who was your aircraft mentor?".

You bastard Chuck…
I fly Pawnees, Cessna’s, CSU retract endorsement, Unrestricted PPL with glider instructor rating with 2,000 hrs and thought I was having fun…
Now I know I’ve done nothing…
I REALLY want to fly something like that. I find you incredible, to build and fly it is enchanting.
Your attention to detail is Canuck 750 esque.
Crazy, classy madness… :thumb:

That's an interesting question, Norman. Marlin Gibson, "Giibby" a first generation aircraft mechanic, took me under his wing so to speak. As usual with me, when I get interested in something, I want to learn all I can about it. He looked over my shoulder when I built my first airplane in the early 60s. During that time, the EAA published "Engineering for the amateur builder" by Raoul Hoffman, Matty Laird's chief engineer.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raoul_Hoffman
I learned a lot from both of those guys.
This is my 7th and most likely last airplane project.. :undecided: but it's been a good run.

Thankya, Huzo.. Thankya.  To be put in the same sentence as our Canuckistanian is high praise, indeed. Over my (gasp) 65 years of flying, I've been fortunate to fly a *lot* of different aircraft.. antiques, homebuilts, two place putt putts up through several twins. I've flown all over the country, and one memorable trip to southern Mexico. One of my best friends was a professional pilot, so that is where the twin stuff came from. He's the guy I built the Great Lakes for.
That said, I'm having more fun with this little booger than I can remember. The Pitts was a hoot, but it was demanding. I can just hop in Bullet in t shirt and shorts, and cruise around just high enough to keep from hitting something,  and enjoy operating a pure "stick and rudder" flying machine.
Here's my old friend Mike flying Bullet. Just a crappy sell fone video by an inexperienced operator..
