options for repair speedo glass / replacement
« on: July 16, 2023, 06:31:58 PM »
This is for a v7 iii. I had a relatively minor accident, hit a curve too fast and wasnt paying close enough attention, hit the brakes, bailed and the bike went off the road into some bushes. Total rookie mistake but it was my first real day back after like 10 months with no riding. Anyways, I broke my windscreen and the speedo glass and silver rim popped off and got lost in the woods. Bike was otherwise fine, I had hard panniers that took the brunt of the fall. I am wondering if I have any good options for replacing the speedo glass. Right now I've got a ziploc bag cut out duct taped over it to keep rain out. And the speedo itself functions perfectly.

and if not, are there any viable aftermarket options? I like the motogadget ones but I am not sure if those would work at all for my bike.

Give Joel Levine a call.

I don't know if he has the glass or bezels for the newer Guzzis.

When I was at his shop last year he was running out of the older chrome rings;  fortunately, mine were reusable.

Thanks for the pointer,  I talked to him. Unfortunately he doesn't do the newer electronic speedos.

changeing bezel and glass can be done yourself if you like tinkering.
unfortunately i am not aware the original bezel is available as spare part, so you would have to change botth.
at that point buying a used speedo is the easier option.
