There is another?
Everything Chuck says about the Classic is true, usually said better than I could, too.
Except, with all the respect in the world, I don't yet think there is an electronic speed limiter set to 74 mph. Instead, the workshop manual says "In the event throttle is wide open, leading to crankshaft speed above 6850 RPM, the high frequency electrical pulses from the crank position sensor will prompt the ECU to restrict fuel supply so that the crank speed reduces to safe levels. This is a safety aspect to prevent damage to moving engine parts." So I think the limiter is on crankshaft, not motorcycle, speed. But I stand to be corrected.
As for actual top GPS speeds on level ground in a light breeze, two-way averaged, I obtained these values today at my secret Low Speed Proving Grounds:
Final GPS top speeds, two-way averaged:
4th gear: 69 mph @ 6275 rpm
4th gear, tucked: 72 mph @ 6500 rpm
5th gear: 66.5 mph @ 5050 rpm
The speedometer is always 3-4 mph higher.
I left more details on a Royal Enfield owners discussion site.
It's a great bike to leave in fifth and torque along the backroads. I wouldn't recommend it for the Appalachian, Ozark, or Rocky mountains. I found it too slow in the Ozarks, uphill.
