COMMENTS PLEASE, THINKING ABOUT GOING BACK TO NEAR STOCK IF I COULD TRADE FOR CAST WHEELS AND STREET TIRES, STOCK OR GOOD SOUNDING LOW PIPES, AND HIGHER STANDARD SEAT.

Nice to have all that ground clearance for leaning. I like the scrambler look, high pipes though.

Personally, I think it looks pretty nice as is.  I do agree with the street tires, though.

I like it, I’d mount good skid plate and give the front fender a little more tire clearance for mud and go explore logging roads.   If I was twenty years younger!

If it were mine I would change the seat and leave the rest of it alone. Even though that seat looks comfortable it looks horrible on this bike. Nice bike by the way.

If part of the deciding factor over whether to keep the Unit Garage high pipes on is your leg pressing uncomfortably against it, I feel ya. The black metal heat shield protectors can be removed; resting your right leg against the heat shield does indeed feel more normal. Also, I’d recommend a Beetle map for them if a custom map hasn’t already been installed—those pipes do not have a cat, and there’s also a chance the original owner removed the decibel killers in the rear (little screws just inside each tail pipe). If they’re out, I’d put them back in personally, but just making sure you know more about those aftermarket parts.

If you’re concerned about not being able to fit a saddlebag over the right side, it’s not too difficult to do a custom job on that side’s pannier racks.

Some pics of my V7 II with the same pipes:

Hard to beat this look.  Loved mine to bits, but love my V7-850 a bit more.
