The new airbox cover has indeed been improved, but unfortunately it does not fit into the previous E4 and E5 models.
The shape of the back is more protruding - the bevel is not there.

the EU Strada version catalog posted, so we got to see the cast wheel part #s.

should be a direct swap, after checking one thing.   The front axle changed part #s from previous V85, all E5+ ones (cast and spoked) take this new part #.  New part # is same as V100, and new Stelvio.  Supplier change? spec change?

Forks also changed part #s from previous V85.  Spec change on the E5+?   Be very shocked if the cast wheels cannot change over to other V85 and you just keep using your current axle.  I bet its more of fork to axle change they did on the E5+.

didnt see any part # changes in the rear, wheel plus wheel cover/3 screws should be it

Hallo Ed,
will the new, small Strada front fender fit on E4/E5 models?

Do you also have a code number for this?

Unfortunately the new and improved airbox cover does not fit (see above).
Now I am thinking about if it would if replacing 2B005442 too:

Thanks a lot Ed!

These are probably the differences that affect the new airbox lid (12) => part 4 is new and different and part 10 (w. three screws 11) is new. If this would solve the problem with the bad lid, the costs would probably be manageable:

You would need:
1. battery box: 2B011780
2. battery holder: 2B011781 + 3x AP8150509 self-tap screw 5x14
3. filter holder (aka airbox lid): 2B011834

Just back from a test ride on the new V85. Guzzi is doing demo rides near me. I see one in my future for sure as soon as I can make room for it.
I have not ridden the previous version so can’t do a comparison but power was more than adequate. I had no problem staying with the Stelvio in front of me. Could do without the space age display but otherwise riding position suited me almost perfectly. Brakes are very strong. Main glitch was the notchy gearbox especially in the lower gears. Could not get it into neutral and neither could the Guzzi rep at the end of the ride. About 85F here today and heat was not a real issue. Windscreen didn’t create any buffeting. Other than the gearbox, Guzzi has a winner here.

....Could not get it into neutral and neither could the Guzzi rep at the end of the ride.

Something must be wrong with it then because it should click right in. Of course being a dry clutch if it doesn't (with just the slightest press) they will mesh with ever so slightly releasing the clutch to turn the gears. The V100's are just the opposite in that since the gears are spinning from their wet clutch dragging, two gear teeth can never can line up opposite each other. However there's a loud clunk and slight lurch going to first from the spinning gears coming to a sudden stop.

I noticed some free play in the clutch cable. If it was mine I would have taken some of that up. Engagement was abrupt but I was able to adjust to that. Only so much you can do on a demo ride. I have to say it was a great ride on some back roads maybe 30 minutes long. Well worth the trip if they come by you.

I went to a breakfast meet up this morning and there were 3 V85s there.  Made me miss mine.  I had one of the first ones in 19 and it was a honey for my whole 4 years with her.

Just got back from a ride down south of here.  The gearbox on the V100 Stelvio is getting better but no where as smooth as my V85!  Once the V85 gets broken in, sometimes you cannot even tell you put it in gear other than it moves correctly - no crunch, no lurch, just smooth.  I did notice much more heat was generated today as the temp was in the mid 90s.  The V85 was never this hot to ride.

I’ve only ever owned 3 Guzzi’s 2 of which I still have. But my experience with both of them (‘07 Norge and V85), is that when you pull the clutch in, if you wait 2 seconds you cannot tell that the gear has engaged, it really is that smooth. I’ve never been on a liquid Guzzi.

The setting is 2MM and they mean it. If twice that it doesn't go into gear very well. It is one of the best gear boxes of the 50+ bikes I've owned.

The gearbox on my Mandello was just awful when new. I would have to shut off the engine to be able to put it in neutral. Could pull or push as hard as I dared, wouldn't happen. Now at 4,000 miles almost as smooth as my V7. I think whomever machines the shift drums must get a little sloppy after lunch or Friday afternoon. No biggie. My dealer told me all Italian bikes do that.   :violent1:
