I am Located North of Pittsburgh.  Although, I probably would not be on your route, you are welcome.  Even if you don't make it over to my house, I would enjoy riding to meet you along the route.  The V85 or the unseen Stelvio can always use a little workout.  I have enjoyed your posts for many years.

I tend to bend and shape my route around the dot points on the map, it’s the way I’ve always done my Europes.

I'm in south eastern Minnesota, a few miles from I-90 and Highway 61. I-90 runs from Boston to Seattle. Highway 61 runs along the length of the Mississippi river. 

This is the edge of the drift-less area. There is a Moto Guzzi dealer 2 hours north of me in Lakeville Minnesota. I can change, mount and balance tires. Let me know if I can be of assistance in your trip.

I think I would feel bereft if I were to leave the Norge at home.

I turned over 200,000 in Italy at the Mandello event, so 300,000 in the USA only seems fitting, one would think ?
This was at the end at the Heathrow depot, with 209,000 k.

Blackbuell is selling his Red NOrge for a very good price...in Kentucky.  I stopped thru a couple of years ago between Ohio and Texas and bought a rear top box from him...his bikes are impeccable.   That's another option for you!

Traveling on a bike that if it dies underneath you, you can walk away from, knowing you have already got your money's worth out of it, is the ultimate traveling freedom, isn't it?

Commonsense says take the V85, passion says take the Norge.
I would prefer to take the Norge and wish I hadn’t, than leave it home and wish I hadn’t.
These trips need a sense of “daring” and taking the V85 would be like kissing your sister…

I actually considered bringing my Honda CT110, can you imagine the thrill of crossing the Golden Gate on an Australian registered postie bike ? 
If I was looking for ultimate safety and coddling,I would do it in a Toyota Prius with a beige button up cardigan and apricot cravat..

I’m surprised you even asked the question.  Your faithful Norge is without question the one to take to Murica.

It won’t fail you.  And even if it does, that in itself would be part of your epic journey.
