New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
I have no idea where the Mr Bean thing came from.kk
Darn Chinese, North Koreans, or Russians!
Bronzestar,Welcome to the Wild Goose Chase............. Looks like this is not your first Guzzi, but also have a 2023 V7. I normally say we all look forward to seeing what your second will be, but you are already there, so here's to #3. The Navale is a beautiful bike and very tempting. I am holding off on going with a water Cooled Guzzi, but am thrilled to see they are keeping the brand alive and current, if not very competitive. I'm renting a V100 for 1/2 a day this summer from Agostini in Mandello DeLario. I wanted to rent a Stelvio, but none were available.I'm adding a Norge back into the mix this summer, and will return the 1200 Sport back to non touring livery. The V100 seems to me to be the successor for the 1200 Sport. Very similar in most dimensions other than the Breva based fat boy tank.... Look forward to seeing pics of the bike with enough standoff to see how the new can and pipes look. A few comments.1. Interesting that Guzzi made the headers and cat as one piece. That would be one of the first things I would do though I like the look of the Stock can. I think Guzzi did the same with the new V85, in order to dump the cat, you have to replace the headers. Euro standards indeed. Thank you Agostini and take that enviro-weenies.....2. For the air cooled bikes at least, MOST will tell you that removing the DB reducer may 'sound' faster, but will normally rob the bike of low-mid power and response and they are right. This has held true for me on my: Norge, 1200 Sport, Griso and V7 Stornello. KEEP IT IN............. Same for the airbox, use a STOCK paper filter. The 'open airbox and intake' is NOT a thing on these Vtwins. Of course, it's your bike, and the V100 is a new animal so YMMV. As you noted for your V7, upmap is the way to change map. You will likely be able to get away with the stock map if you keep the DBR in.3. Moto Richmond is a great dealer. Cool sales staff, and responsive / solid techs. LaMoto in Arlington is a joke for all things Guzzi, best to stay away if you value your wallet.
Yeah, I think the design of the headers and cat as one single unit is a Euro-5 thing, makes it much more difficult to remove the cat. The Ago headers supposedly are 10mm larger in diameter, and along with their y-pipe, were super simple to install. I removed the dB killers on my V7 more for sound than anything else. From videos that I've seen, to get the sound I wanted, the dB killers had to go. I looked at the open airbox lid thing on the V7, and it looks like it has a DNA air filter. I had a DNA filter on an '18 Triumph Street Twin I used to have, so not an entirely unknown brand to me. I'll stay away from the typical oiled-gauze air filters on these bikes, and stick with OEM-style paper ones. I'll see what the V100 sounds like with the dB killer back in, and will probably run it that way. It was surprisingly loud to me with it out. I got both the V7 and V100 from Chelsea up at Moto Richmond. She worked out an $1800 discount on the '23 V7 Special Edition, and a $2800 discount on the '24 V100, so I'm sold on her dealership. Good to know about LaMoto, since they're one of the three closest Guzzi dealers to me (plus Moto Richmond and there's a place in Charlotte).

I dunno…There’s an elephant in the room and for me it’s the underdone front fairing, you can put a barn door transparent screen onto what’s already there, but the visual balance is slightly askew.Looks like a 600 screen on a 1000 bike.I’ll bet the next incarnations have larger ones.
Are you riding a motorcycle or a two wheel car?
Figured I'd post some initial riding impressions. Bike has about 175 miles on it now, and I'm hoping the transmission gets smoother by the 900 mile break-in service. It's clunkier than the trans on my '23 V7 Special Edition, that's for sure. When at a stop in neutral, shifting it into first makes the bike lurch a little bit, with a definite "clunk" sound. Also, it seems like the friction point on the clutch is pretty much as far out on the lever as it can be, i.e. just pulling it in ever so slightly is enough, especially on downshifts. Not used to that yet, so time will tell. The adjustable shield works best at its lowest position, because raising it makes things noticeably louder up at the helmet. I replaced the clear US-spec shield with a Euro-spec tinted one, which I think is a little bigger, so that might have something to do with it? I normally ride the bike in "road" mode, tried "sport" mode the other day. Definitely has a crisper throttle response, and it's easier to put the bike in neutral than when it's in "road" mode (weird, but it happened). Sport mode would be annoying in stop and go traffic, so I'm going to keep it in "road" mode most of the time. Rev limiter light comes on at 6K rpms during the break-in period, so I've been taking it easy on the twisty curvy roads, but it's handles very well. Will eventually invest in an UPMAP tune, probably within the next few months. Coloring on the Ago headers would indicate it's running a little lean, in addition to the pops on deceleration, so the tune should take care of those two issues. Recent riding video. I was using a GoPro-style camera mounted on the chin of the helmet, with an external mike inside the helmet: https://youtu.be/XfSsmkvXrMc
I don't know how you could ride only 175 miles in two months. When I get a new bike I am so enthralled with it that I hit the first service mileage within a couple weeks. All the other bikes are moved to the back burner until I get through that first service. I'm not ragging on you, I just don't understand it. But, I'm the one with the addiction so I'm sure it is me that is weird when it comes to bikes.
Thanks for this great post! I'm curious if you had an option for a 23 V100 Aviazione Navale as well as the 24? There is a new 23 nearby me that is being offered at 12,995, which seems like a good value. I'm trying to determine if there are any major difference between the 23 and 24. (I haven't read of any significant design changes.) I don't think the dealer sells many MG's so it's been sitting for a while. Also, your riding video was great! Any chance you could do a video walkaround showing your mods? I'm especially interested in seeing the head guards that you installed from different angles. Thanks again!
$13K is a great price for a "new" Aviazione Navale. I'm not sure if there are any significant changes between a '23 and '24, other than the '23 being the first year the V100 was offered, so possible teething problems associated with being the first? I don't have a walk-around video of my V100, I'll have to take one. I'll post a few pics that show the head guards, and maybe a couple of others...
I believe I know which dealer you are mentioning. Check their additional fees, they are pretty good at making up the difference from the reduced price. The finance/closer messed up the paperwork on my Audace so badly that it took three months to get the registration finished but I would guess he is long gone.kk
