V7 Stone to V85TT
« on: August 06, 2024, 10:11:51 PM »
Well my time as owner of the raffle winning 2023 V7 Stone SE was short lived. I traded it for a 2020 V85TT Adventure a couple weeks ago. Really liked the V7 and managed just over 3000 miles since January but have been wanting an adventure bike for many years. The timing was right, the bike was just what I would consider trading for and it all feels good!I made my first tracks off the pavement this weekend, just to feel things out. https://youtu.be/sR9P_x_8RDA

Didn't switch to off road mode and really felt the power dropping on the loose gravel climb. Must remember to do that before I get there! So far, I am really enjoying the V85TT and plan to keep it a good long time!

Nice.  If you are going to truly adventure off road I recommend soft luggage.  Those hard bags can break a leg.

That's a good idea.  I have those same hard boxes.  Do you have recommendations for soft?

Glad you like the V85Tt, I had 2, a 2020 and then a 2022. If you ride off road, if you didn't, shut off the ABS for safety. I had soft hepco and Becker on my 2020, See pic for reference, they look great and are weill made. Be safe!

Great idea! Thanks for the recommendation. I will definately have to work my way up to off roading with full luggage. My plan is to build the skills locally a little at a time. Soft panniers will be the choice based on the risk!

Made a small detour on my way home from work to explore an area under a railroad bridge near the house.
