1200 sport steering

i am looking for opinions .i have a 2 valve 2007 1200 sport which is very much standard and thanks to all the info on this site runs very well. the issue i have is that when coming to a stop (car park speeds ) the bike has a tendency to turn quickly into the right. its caught me a couple of times and i thought it was just me ,but when getting an mot the other day i mentioned it to the tester and he replied that he had heard that from another guzzie customer so what is your experience? or have i an issue , its got new head bearings and swing arm bearings. is there a preferred front tyre?

Good idea on tires. I have noticed some bearings have a tendency to like one side more than the other. Re-adjust after break-in is required. Tires will make it feel more or less noticeable.

Are you using your front brake at those speeds?  If so, try using the rear only. I would also double check the steering head bearings and bushings for proper grease and adjustment. Tires are a possibility, they can be weird when at the end of their life.

thanks for your replies. yes bulldog9 i was using my front brake at the time. my riding mate had also suggested that and i have addressed it, but he experienced it as well when he gave it a trial. its got michelin road 5s on. there are new steering bearings on it, should i preload them up some? there is no play

Are both your brake calipers on the front operating correctly ?

good one huzo. ill have to dig in to that, ive not had any problems braking from speed but ill investigate and report back

I can't see this as the issue, afterall there are tons of single disk front brakes, and the wheel is not known to turn. I'm thinking this is technique not mechanical.

i have looked at the brakes and everything seems fine so perhaps it is me. ill see how things go. thanks for your thoughts
