It is well documented here, but I’ll take you through..
I’ve had my ‘07 Norge tank off 876 times…

Start by removing the seat.
#1
Remove the two small side covers that go from the tank rear to the under seat fairing.

#2
Remove the securing bolt at the rear of the tank.
#3
Obtain a wooden block 4” cubed.
#4
Slide the tank rearwards 2” and lift it up, placing the block under the tank rear.
#5
Disconnect the electrical plug that feeds the fuel pump.
#6
Now, the good bit

From the right side of the bike, hold the 90 degree fuel line elbow with your left hand, GENTLY push the fuel line with the collar, towards the elbow (you will hear a faint “click”).
#7
Holding the elbow with your left hand, simultaneously retract the collar towards the fuel line and slide the fitting away from the elbow. There is a tool you can get to make this easier (and safer).
#8 The tank will now come off…
Don’t dodge around removing the tank, you will have to learn to do it for servicing the airbox and other sundry tasks. It is not the horrible spectre that it’s sometimes made out to be.
