That would be an epic trip.   Added to the wish list.
I don't know if and when, but thanks for the offer.
Or…
Come over and you can have the V85, either I’ll come along on the Norge or you can go alone.

The red ones rule, and the color alone is reason enough to keep it. I had my red one wrecked and fixed it with insurance $$ instead of buying a later 8V. With only 4k miles ridden in the time you owned it, are you REALLY going to get the satisfaction you're looking for from an 8V? Every time you see a red one you'll regret it.

Yep. I bought it to go on long trips.  It's harder to do than I expected.

Problem solved.

I’d take a late model 4V Norge over the older 2V Norge each and every time. Without hesitation and without a second thought.

Could you trade in the old 2V Norge without the trunk and use it on the newer 4V Norge? Remove anything off the 2V Norge it didn’t come out of the crate with. Add ons are only worth $0.05 on the $1.00 spent anyway.

Decisions decisions...do I take the 8V Griso out today or the 4V Norge...me thinks both!  Too nice a day not to ride, so off to do a loop we go.

Time to wear out the tires here on the Griso before starting the Grand Tour of Texas again in February...fresh rubber coming in a month!

I've been tempted to add a Mahogany/Espresso Norge to the collection if I found one nearby...great looking Norge indeed but my 2V Norge is still running perfectly, so it doesn't make sense to add another Norge other than for eye candy!

It can be confusing. The 2012+ Norge has an eight valve motor that has four valve heads.

For whatever reason, some people insist on numbering, the valves in the head Or per cylinder rather than the total valves in the motor.

So when a person says a 2v Norge, they really mean a four-valve Norge. And when they say 4v Norge they really mean an eight valve..... I try to keep it simple and identify the motor by the total number of valves in the motor, not per cylinder.

All of the 2012 and 2013 8 valve motors came from the factory with flat tablets and need to have roller tapet conversions. This applied to all of the 1200cc carc bikes which included the stelvio, the Griso, and the Norge. For the most part, everything 2014 and onward had rollerized motors.

I had a 2014 Rootbeer Brown/ Mahogany Norge. I bought the bike with 800 mi on it and it was rollerized, but it must have been a early 2014 model because they really botched up the rollerization leaving the cams on the right cylinder off by one tooth, And the job was poorly done with RTV everywhere. I traded it in in 2019 for an mgx21. I keep expecting to see its surface here on the forum. It was rather unique in that I moved the rear view mirrors to the fairing on either side of the windshield.

After reding it all, I think it comes down to…

1. How often are you going to need and use the extra grunt of the 4v above 5,000 rpm?

2. Do you need the improved fairing on the 4v?

3. How often will you turn around and look at the 4v as you walk away compared to your red 4v?

Yours look Better Mounted than Mine. I plastic Welded a 6" long and 3" wide by 1/4" thick piece of plexi glass, and a metal plate on the back side and ran the bolts through all to mount. I figured if I went down hard enough to schwack the mirrors, the Fairing was Toast anyway. And yes, the mirrors  were too small.............. ..

Point #3 old guy perspective, with the much extended fuel range of the Norge over my Californias, I often have to leave the Norge without a look back. The bladder urgency frequently supersedes the need for a momentary awestruck  Wow moment.  Just have to make sure the kick stand is down and key is in my pocket. It’s there for the beholding on my relieved return.

You mean the 4V or 8V? It says it right on the body that it is an 8V not 4V

Oh, and the answer is YES.......... To all of the above as well as an improved suspension, and side case sealing. Truth be told, I like the character of the 4V lumps in my Griso and 1200 Sport, but I do appreciate the extra oomph in the upper revs when loaded and touring. It makes the others feel slow when you really run the motor out on the 8V
