Old Tail Light Bulbs

I bought this 10-box of 1157 bulbs at the local flea market in 1990 for a dollar. I was resurrecting an old pickup truck, and needed some.

I've raided that box of bulbs over the years, one bulb at a time.

Fast forward 35 years, and I used the last one in an 11 year old motorcycle tail light - and it still works !

Made in USA, no less.

1.  There was one on the shelf.
2.  I actually found it.
3.  It worked.

This is an example of what I like to call a "fellow traveler"  - items/equipment that unexpectedly wind up being with us for damn near a lifetime.

I have a tub of marine wheel bearing grease that I bought in 1990. There's still a bit left!

I may soon replace the last CFL light bulb from a box that I bought around 2003 or so.

I have a little can of 3 in 1 oil that has likely survived 3 generations.

I have bought numerous cans of the 3 in 1 oil over the years. It seems I never have one on hand when I need it. However, I am constantly finding an opened can, barely used, when I'm looking for something else. Does it go bad?

I have a can of 3 in 1 oil that I use on my hair clippers. I don't have much hair so it will last many more years. Moto Guzzi content, I cut my own and  use a double edge safety razor to shave. A $20 hundred blade package lasts over a year, more bird noises, cheap cheap cheap.
