Denso Plugs
« on: May 24, 2025, 04:27:24 PM »
No one here in town (Portland Orego) seems to carry the Denso Spark Plugs. I talk to the parts guy and he says "sure I've got them" then says they're autolite or something else.

Where do you find them?

It looks like I'll have to order them straight from Denso, but was hoping to find them locally.

Are you looking at motorcycle shops? My experience has been that NAPA, AutoZone, CarQuest, O'Reilly have a large selection of plugs on hand from most of the brands and for more than just cars & trucks. If they don't have it in stock, they can order it to the store.

When I was calling around, I didn't ask if they could be ordered in. I'll have to do that. Also, I guess I'll search ebay and amazon.

I tried the honda shop and they don't even carry Denso - I didn't expect that.

And, yes, it was the auto parts stores you mentioned.

No surprise to me that the Honda shop didn't have them, Honda and NGK have a longtime partnership. Owner's manuals will list the standard NGK plug, and then list the Denso part number as an alternative.

Try a Toyota dealer. Denso are OEM fitment for Toyota.

Bosch or NGK are just as good

I just got some vintage new old stock Denso plugs on EvilBay.  Non-resistor, xtra-projected electrode, difficult to find.  To try on a 1958 BMW R50.

Labeled as Honda plugs, but I think Rebhead might be right, and they might be current Toyota plugs.
