Does the 2023 V7 Stone have riding modes?
« on: June 04, 2025, 07:10:22 PM »
Hello all

I must be having a blond moment but I looked at a 2023 V7 Stone and I thought it had sport/rain mode, looked at a manual online and it didn't mention it and I did a quick mode run through on the bike and I don't recall seeing it but I saw every other function

Thanks for the assistance

Does it have Traction Control and ABS like the V7III Special?

It only has 1 dial but a quick online search shows this: The 2023 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone features three riding modes: Road, Rain, and Sport. The Road mode is the standard, Rain mode reduces power and traction control for wet conditions, and Sport mode provides more aggressive throttle response and reduced traction control for dynamic riding. Lower down it shows the stone doesn't have sport mode.

The sample you linked has the dual dials. All have ABS

perhaps a current 23 stone owner will chime in to clarify

Thanks-

In a word - NO.

The V7/V9 bikes through 2024 use the Marelli MIU G3 combination ECU/throttle body with cable control. You normally find riding modes on RBW (ride by wire) systems.

For 2025 the V7 will change significantly with a change to the larger 52mm RBW throttle body and separate ECU from the V85. THIS is where the riding modes are being introduced. Though fair warning we're told only the V7 Sport will have Sport mode, the others will only have Touring and Rain or something like that.

Thanks for the quick reply and answer, I didn't think I saw the RBW like my 24 Stelvio. One less thing to worry about!

Thanks-

Online searches are now largely driven by AI and can be problematic as it often confuses details. That reads exactly like the press releases on the new 2025 and AI probably found it on a page that ALSO talked about the 2023 model and made the mistake of thinking they were one and the same.

I double-checked my memory by checking a few articles on 2023 models like by CW and there were no mention of "modes".

I've been following the 2025's pretty closely because I'm planning to figure out a way to own 3 V7's because of the differences.

I have a 2023 V7 Stone.  It doesn't have ride modes labeled street, rain, etc., but it has different levels of the Moto Guzzi Controllo di Trazione or whatever.  Normal mode is MGCT1, but you can switch to MGCT2 on the fly (more intervention on the traction control, so presumably good for the wet).  If you are parked, you can also disable the MGCT completely, and then hoon about in the gravel I guess.

Yeah that's been on all V7 models since ABS/TC was introduced for the 2015/2016 V7II and on.
